Direct link to offer

  • Barclays is offering an increased bonus on the Wyndham Earner Business card: 50,000 points after you $3,000 in spend within 90 days and an additional 25,000 points after spending $10,000 within the first 12 months

Card Details

  • $95 annual fee
  • Card earns
    • 8x points at Wyndham properties and on qualifying gas purchases
    • 5x points on marketing, advertising and utilities
    • 1x points on all other purchases
  • Annual fee of $95, not waived first year
  • Automatic Wyndham Diamond status
  • 10% discount on go free awards
  • Anniversary bonus of 15,00 points

Our Verdict

Not as good as the previous bonus that was 75,000 points but only required $2,000 in spend and a purchase on an employee card. There was also a 90,000 point bonus as well. Because of that I’d recommend waiting for a bigger bonus to return. There is a 75,000 point bonus on the personal card.

Bonus is now 80,000 points for $19,000 total spend.

I think this is objectively worse but may still be worth considering for some.

Got approved, thought I have to recon because I just applied USB Triple which got the 7-10 message and BOA Travel Rewards. This will be my gas card going forward.

I opened Barclays American business and JetBlue business card in June 2022. Closed both in June 2023. Would love to apply for this but feel like it’s probably going to be a no since I have two recent Barclays cards closed. Any thoughts?

Applied and approved instantly as sole prop. 1 barclay personal card. At 4/24 personal cards. And 5/12 inquiries

I applied since I think maybe a better offer will come back, but it might not come until sometime next year.

In my mind, no point in waiting for an extra 25k points (75k with easy 2-3k spend vs 50k with 3k and additional 25k with 10k). As likely 90k offer won’t come back for a while. And the extra year of status and status matching is worth more than 25k points to me.

Might the bigger offer not come back given the demand / how much of the internet knows about the status matching bonanza to get free cruises and hotel nights with this card?

Applied for card on May 31st and was declined for excessive applications (most with Chase). They counted 8 in last 12 months (my count is 9 including an upgrade inquiry). First reco call was unsuccessful On June 2nd, 2nd today was successful and was approved for $2000 limit after verifying some information and talking through the inquiries that not all of them were for new credit or just personal/business and that I am excited about expanding relationship…..

Declined for the Wyndham Rewards Earner Business Card. So applied for Wyndham Rewards Earner Plus Personal Card immediately to save the credit pull and approved with $5 CL. Called recon to see if they can approve me for the Rewards Earner Business Card. But was told I am carrying balances on too many cards which was the reason for the decline. All these balances account for 5% of my total credit limit available across all personal cards and they decided to use this as a reason to decline me for the business card while they were fine to approved me for the personal card. Really weird.

Any thought on buying gift cards at Gas station and how strict are Barclays?

Finally got approved as a Sole Prop, after 3 months of struggling with a real business… had to cancel that app over the phone, and move my personal CL over to this one.
