Will The Shopping Cart Trick Work?
For those not familiar, the shopping cart trick let’s you get some Comenity Bank credit cards without a hard pull.
Our Verdict
It doesn’t make sense to put grocery store or gas station spend on this card, as other cards earn at a much higher rate (best gas cards & best grocery cards). It also doesn’t make sense to put non bonus spend on this card due to the fact other cards earn 2%+ on these purchases.
I guess you could put $6,000 in spend on this card and get $100 in gift certificates from the sign up bonus and then another $60 from every day spend. But if you put that on a 2% card you’d be earning $120 cash back anyway, so really only a bonus of $40 and that is if you treat the rewards certificates like cash (you shouldn’t).
Overall I don’t see much value in this card unless you shop a lot at Bed Bath & Beyond stores and also have bad credit that rules you out from other rewards credit cards. It’ll be interesting to see if the shopping cart trick works on this card or not.
The same card exists branded with the other BB&B brands, for instance:

SCT did not work.
I was filled with joy upon seeing you finally had a store card while reviewing the ad; then I read Comenity & tossed the ad 😜
So sign up, get $25 off coupon, buy 5 $200 VGCs, get $25 gift certificate for spending $1000 plus $50 in rewards earned, gives you essentially $100 of BBB cash for the cost of the VGCs ($35).
YOU REFER TO VGC—WHAT DOES THAT STAND FOR?
Visa gift card
Link it with ebates and get 7% total cb on $200 vgc’s?
Ebates pulled that plug a few months back.
Another thing to keep in mind it’s another account towards chase 5/24
That just goes without saying since literally everything, from retail cards to being an AU on someone else’s card, counts towards 5/24.
