What is everyone using as a personal hub right now with longer hold times and issues linking accounts with Fidelity CMA??

I use Cap360 for my primary banking stuff and moving money around but I’m getting tired of only having a 3 linked account max.

William Charles I think CIT Bank $300 Savings should be in list of best savings acct bonuses.

this is tough. 20k in account for 4 months before bonus is paid ie ~$250 interest that can be easily earned at any CD or money market. Keep the account open for 6 months or $70 penalty. Possible notary and mail charges.400 – 70 – 250 = $80 and money is blocked for 6 months. APY is nothing else it could have made sense.

What exactly does lol/24 mean in reference to chex inquiries?

It’s assigned by people that aren’t keeping count of their Chex inquiries, and implying that they are getting multiple inquiries per month. Basically a useless DP, because that “LoL” count could be a lot to you, but not a lot to someone else. 1

Do you know if “Public record information on file at Lexis Nexis Risk Solutions was utilized for this inquiry” inquiries are treated any differently than direct Chex inquiries?

Also guessing an inquiry from one bank for a denied online app and then another for in-branch, albeit 4 days apart, counts as two inquiries (M&T >:0).

I don’t know the answer to your 1st question.

For your 2nd question, that certainly counts for 2 Chex inquiries. In fact, if you had applied to M&T online and in-branch on the same day, there’s a good chance that the 2 inquiries would not have combined.

That’s what happened with me with BFB. ☹

Those entries are just telling you where they grabbed your ID information from. Most are LexisNexis, some are Transunion. I don’t see why they would be any better or worse than any other inquiries. These things were going on behind the scenes before anyway – now you just see more info on the Chex.

BTW, if you ever have a bank deny you for Chex, and if you press them for more info and they say it’s due to a “3rd Party Freeze”, it means your LexisNexis/Sagestream, or Transunion is frozen.

Yes, that’s likely two separate inquiries. In branch Chex inquires usually have the actual branch address, and online is usually listed as the HQ address. It would be hard to say it’s a duplicate, but you can try. You COULD just say the bank SHOULD have already had your Chex information on file from the inquiry on (date) and request the inquiry on (date) be removed. AFAIK, the worst thing Chex is going to do is tell you that the dispute is frivolous and close the dispute. That’s happened to me many times, but sometimes I have had luck getting a little cleanup done. If it works, please report back! Kevin🔗

If anyone is tapped out on available offers you can give this one a try. I tried it on a lark while waiting for my year to be up on several other banks.

https://www.andrewsfcu.org/new150

The DOC page mentions that it is Chex sensitive but it wasn’t scared away by my Chex score which gets me denied regularly at other Chex sensitive places. Also I am in Ohio and they approved me through the American Consumer Council. So it appears nationwide.

Obviously YMMV

It technically stands for “your mileage may vary” but I like your twist on it. It’s kind of like how I tell people that “P1” and “P2” mean “Person #1” and “Person #2” instead of “Player #1” and “Player #2” as churning is not a game!

Is there a specific way to search DOC to find a list of checking accounts with bonuses that do not have a monthly service fee? The ones I am aware of are Cap One 360, Sofi, Chime, and Discover cashback checking.

The site does make use of tags though, so perhaps doc could start adding a “no monthly fee” tag when appropriate? Might be a heavy lift though since a page’s content isn’t typically updated unless called out specifically, and likely not worth the effort.

Another way is to create a community resource page for it, similar to the HUB accounts page.

Most do not have a service fee (it’s waived) if you keep a minimum deposit in, which varies by account.

DoC’s waiting for a better public offer. If you can find a mailer, there are much better offers for a larger bonus with larger, easily faked, DD’s. Nathan
