- Best Buy has 12 months of Mint mobile for $240 (normally $300). Includes 12GB a month
Our Verdict
Mint is also offering unlimited data until 6/14 and that offer has been extended a few times, obviously no guarantees it will be extended again though. That offer is only for existing customers so won’t help.
Have they fixed the messaging issues with iPhones? Group texting does not work if all parties are not using iPhones in my experience. It makes mint unusable for me.
I have no issues with group texts with iPhone + non-iPhones. No special provisioning or settings adjustment required.
Is there a way to renew my current mint plan with this new SIM? My yearly $20/mo 8gb is expiring next week.
I do see an ‘activate replacement sim’ option on the mint menu but not sure if this used for when you lose your sim or it gets damaged instead.
I share the same question. Please someone help.
No. Port your number to Google Voice and you can forward to any number. You lose iMessage though.
Anyone know if I can get this if I’m already a customer (3 month plan ending this month) and add it on?
The unlimited data is only for existing customers as of 4/15.
Anyone buying this plan will not have unlimited data.
You sure about that?
Nevermind I see you’re right, updated post.

Thanks
Can anyone give a source or screenshot confirming it’s 12GB *a month*, not total?
https://www.mintmobile.com/plans/ this talks about plan pricing, 12gb/m is $25 per month or $300. This is $300 save $60.
Already sold out.
How long is the card good for? (my current plan expires in 2 months…can I buy this now and hold onto it until it’s time to renew or does it “expire” if not used with X days?)
EDIT: I read a comment saying you have up to 45 days…can anyone confirm?
You should be good to go with 45 days, but it might not hurt to email them first to confirm your exact situation.
From the FAQs: “Sure you can. You have up to 45 days from your plan purchase date to activate your SIM card. If you need more time then please contact our support team at [email protected] or call us at 800-683-7392.”

It’s a great decision I have ever made. Saves me a lot. They use TMobile network which is comparable to att in my area. I always do yearly renewal which is cheapest.
What are peoples’thoughts on mint as your main telephone line?
Coming from AT&T, I think the service is slightly worse, but it’s never been a huge issue. Aside from that, I’ve had no problems with Mint, and will continue to use it.
I have used T-mobile postpaid, T-mobile prepaid, and metro pcs. I can’t tell a difference in a medium-sized city. I have been with them for almost 4 years. I had one problem when my sim card became defective. The customer service was great and got me a card in about 2 days.
Huge mint fan! I’ve been a customer for last three years. Would highly recommend! Check on their website how good coverage is in your area.
All cell service is local unless you try it you never know how good
I was hopping around free/cheap service for the last 5 years from ringplus to Sprint BYOD Free, Google Fi to Ultra..
Every service I see people post and complain about them but I never have any trouble with any of them.
And every people keep telling me how good Verizon service is but I never see why.
Mvnos across the board offer slower speeds and are the lowest priority when there’s congestion on the towers vs. the actual cell company’s own customers.
Otherwise seems decent
If anyone has any input on the possible use of this card to continue the annual service on a Mint active line. I’ll appreciate it.
It is said (I’ve never tried) if you let your current plan expire without renewal, you can create a “new” account with the new sim, and “port” your now-expired number.
Less risky just port to say straight talk for a month, then report to mint.
Even less risky, use Google Voice as your line and don’t use your “real” number at all
