Best Posts Last Week: AmEx Clawback, Chase 48 Month Rule & More

Last week saw some unfortunate news come to light, American Express are clawing back credits if you received credits across multiple cards that used the 10% back at Staples offer. Chase also changed the restriction on the Sapphire cards so that you’re not eligible for another sign up bonus on those cards if you received one within the last 48 months, previously it was 24 months. Referral links still have the old 24 month language. This rule was likely change was the Chase Sapphire Reserve was launched ~24 months ago.  The new Chase/American Express Marriott/SPG rules are also now in effect.

In better news a new round of people have been targeted for the 100,000 point Platinum CardMatch offer. It has also been confirmed you get the $300 credit on upgrade offers for the SPG luxury card. The Bank of America 75,000 Virgin Atlantic offer has also made a come back. Citi is also offering a 30% transfer bonus to Virgin Atlantic.

We’ve updated our best bank bonus page for September. Chase is offering $300 for new business checking accounts, they have also launched YouInvest that offers free trades for the first year and Sapphire Banking that will come with a points sign up bonus in the future. Citadel Bank is offering a $300 checking & $100 savings bonus for those in PA and Cedar Rapids has a $300 checking bonus for those in PA.

Wells Fargo is offering 10-50% back at select merchants including Kmart, Staples, Office Depot/Max & more. Chick-fil-A is offering 8 free nuggets if you download the app. Total Rewards is giving some elites free nights. Hilton and Hyatt both released Q4 offers.

As always a lot of the good deals have already expired, make sure to either follow us on Twitter, get instant notifications or get daily e-mail updates so you don’t miss any deals. If we missed any deals or you have an idea for a post, please let us know ([email protected] or [email protected]).

There’s something missing! For the last few years, August-September has seen some splashy new credit card releases (Chase Sapphire Reserve in 2016, and Bank of America, NFCU, United, and Delta in 2017). What about 2018? Are there any new credit cards coming out in September?
