Best Posts Last Week: Two Citi 50,000 Point Offers, 25,000 Point No Fee American Express Platinum + Another Three Fantastic Deals

Citi was on an absolute rampage last week. First they increased the sign up bonus on the Citi Prestige card to 50,000 points after $3,000 in spend. There is still the in branch offer of 60,000 points and a lower AF of $350, but the spend requirement is much higher at $15,000. Some people have even reported receiving targeted offers of 100,000 points, if your seriously considering any of these offers make sure you also read up on the three free rounds of golf you can receive as well.

In addition to this on Sunday they also increased the sign up bonus to 50,000 points after $3,000 in spending on the Citi ThankYou Premier. The old offer was also for 50,000 points, but it was split over two years. This new offer coincides with the changes that Citi have implemented on the Premier, the annual fee is reduced to $95 and they’ve switched which categories earn 2x/3x points and also vastly expanded what counts as travel. Citi also made a minor change to the Citi Dividend card and people reported receiving a bunch of different spending bonuses on a variety of different Citi cards. Oh and they also added a $100 statement credit to the Citi Hilton Reserve card.

There was mixed news for American Express lovers, American Express will no longer back date your new credit cards to your member since date. This isn’t great for those looking to increase their average age of accounts/FICO scores. In more positive news it’s possible to get the American Express Platinum card with no annual fee and a $250 point bonus at the moment. It’s also still possible to get the 75,000 point offer on the business rewards gold card as well.

If you have trouble keeping up with all of the different credit card bonuses, I’d recommend reading our 10 bonuses you may have missed post. If you have trouble meeting minimum spend requirements then I’d recommend our list of credit cards with no minimum spending requirements. You can also have a look at what different bloggers favorite credit card benefits are.

It was also a really really good week for different deals. Probably the best deal we’ve seen in a long time is an AmEx sycn offer for Smart & Final where you receive $25 back on $50. Did I mention they sell gift cards and you can sync via Twitter? Staples is back with a $20 Staples gift card when you purchase $300 or more in Visa/Mastercard gift cards, Staples is also giving a discount on merchant gift cards up to 15% as well. You might also have hit it lucky and have an offer to receive a $20 statement credit when you spend $20+ at Amazon.
