Will amex offer be triggered if we buy eGC on bestbuy.com? I have the impression purchasing eGC on BB site is jot handled by BB.

Yes, 3rd party eGCs are fine since they use regular BB checkout system — Best Buy eGC goes to Cashstar’s website so that won’t work (billed by Cashstar)
PayPal might have 5% rewards for BB as well which will also stack (pay with Amex via PayPal)

Have you come across any articles/threads that have addressed this question on a wider scale? I’d love a master list of various retailers and how each of their online gift card sales track…

There are no AmEx Offers, Chase Offers, or Paypal Offers for Best Buy. I checked.
There were… just had to add the Amex Offers the day it came out.
