Our Verdict
Unfortunately you can’t do this bonus if you’ve held a Bethpage account before. Some readers will have had account from previous bonuses. If you can get approved (they are Chex Systems sensitive) then this bonus is definitely worth doing and we will add it to our best bonus page. I suspect this deal will end earlier so consider signing up sooner rather than later. If you get the ‘Can’t open account at this time’ error try using a different browser.

If your approved/denied please state how many accounts you’ve opened in the last 12/24 months. This is more useful than your Chex score.
I’ve lost count
This is the way!
That’s why you need to review your Chex report every so often. 😀
When you can get hold of the damn thing. PITA for those of us who can’t get online access to work.
Wouldn’t number of Chex inquiries be more useful? Or are you saying Bethpage can also see the number of new accounts? Where would they see the non-Chex pullers? EWS?
I’m pretty sure that William Charles confused bank bonuses with credit cards (ie 5/24). 😀
Chex inquiries is a lot more important than account openings as many FIs do not pull Chex. If people follow what you wrote, the data will be very skewed.
Also, it’s best to include 1, 3 & 6 months also as some FIs (ie Farmers) seem to be a lot more sensitive to more recent inquiries than older inquiries.
From the few DPs posted, I’m guessing Bethpage might be fine with something like 0/1, 0/3, ?/6, LOL/12, LOL/24, LOL/36.
Karl, I agree. I think 0 in 30 days and/or less than 3 in 90 days looks like it gets an approval. BECU is the same way with the less than 3 in 90 day threshold.
Lots of people aren’t tracking individual chex inquiries but know how many accounts they have opened, of course it’s preferred though.

What a silly bank.
Got my $250 bonus so I wanted to transfer it out.
Tried to add an account through Plaid/MX (not sure which they were using) and they wouldn’t let me xfer to my Citi checking because it’s not a loan account.
Fortunately they did give me paper checks so I’ll just do a mobile check deposit.
Silly.
Push from wise personal coded as salary.

My $250 bonus landed today, after two real $100 DDs (October 4 and 18). I moved everything out, though I might keep this account open a bit longer given the lifetime language of the promotion.
What lifetime language?
