You agree to let them harvest your data, so they’ll be able to give you award points even if there’s no copay.

I wonder how much VC money they pissed away on salaries for the people negotiating this crap.

They did keep enough VC money for the CEO to rent out the Egyptian Pyramids for his wedding, but after that, I think it’s all expendable.

So presumably Bilt is getting L3 purchase data to be able to offer this. Seems like a trade of points in exchange for your purchase history at a drug store and perhaps some insight into your prescriptions.

No thanks.

If you think they are the only ones doing this you’re in for a treat

Oh, I’m sure they’re not.

That being said, if you were to ask me whether I would rather have this data in the hands of a fintech whose business model is heavily based on making money off this kind of data… or someone like Chase and AMEX which have significant revenue streams not based on this data, I’ll pick the later every time.

I honestly do not care if Bilt has data on restaurant spend, gas, etc. Drugstores, and in particular prescriptions which are subject to HIPAA if they contain L3 data – I want Bilt nowhere near that. This is a good read, and it does make me wonder whether this program violates HIPAA if Bilt hangs onto certain pieces of data: https://www.paubox.com/blog/hipaa-and-the-credit-card-exemption

Should probably send Dick Kerr a DM on this. I’m sure he’ll be right on it.

Beginning of the end…sad this was a great card, especially when they used to to all the partner transfer bonus. But not surprising it was not sustainable..

They still offer partners transfer bonuses. They’re literally offering a 50% bonus to Avianca and 20-100% bonus to Virgin in a few days.

This is silly because Walgreens already gives out free photo prints like every month.
