Bilt Loses Hawaiian As Transfer Partner

Bilt has lost Hawaiian Airlines as a transfer partner, but is confident that the Alaska Airlines & Hawaiian merger will be approved (Bilt is a transfer partner of Alaska Airlines). Apparently this was the end of a three year deal that was signed and it didn’t make logistical sense to do a new deal.

That makes sense, although it’s slightly strange that no advanced notice was given.

The fact it’s apparently been missing since June 1 and was just discovered kind of shows it wasn’t very important to begin with.

Reasonable question: Which other transfer partners are coming to the end of their agreement and will disappear?

Seriously. It seems like no ‘partner’ wants to continue with BILT. Burn every point as soon as you earn it.

I’m regretting not picking up a Barclays Hawaiian biz card when that was 70k or 80k.

Confident that the merger will be approved?

Ha!

The DOJ surprisingly approved the merger today, which was the biggest hurdle. Very likely now that Alaska and Hawaiian will merge.
May even be worth transferring a bunch of AMEX points over to Hawaiian- with a 20% bonus until 8/31- since those will probably become Alaska miles, and there’s no other way to transfer to Alaska… Dansdeals has an interesting post about it.

the DOJ has not “approved” the merger. They merely just stayed silent. They can still block the merger. https://www.khon2.com/always-investigating/doj-not-saying-if-alaska-hawaiian-merger-passed-muster/

Embarrassing. There was a time when I would have chosen BILT over WF autograph. Now the choice is obvious. One is going downhill and the other is improving.

Curious, how is the Wells Fargo autograph improving?

It was a cashback card. They added transfer partners. They will keep adding more aggressively to be competitive with the other banks.

I transferred a BUNCH of points to Hawaiian Airlines when Bilt had their double points bonus. I still have enough points for 2 trips to Hawaii.

Then I did that again when they had the same Deal for Alaska. I’ve been killing it with this card.

Let’s see how much you’re enjoying them when they get devalued before your speculative transfers get spent. Ha!

They intended to keep the Hawaiian Airlines name in that region. Possible they’d keep the points separate but that wouldn’t make a ton of sense.

This means we should sign up for hawaiian airlines credit cards in case they become alaska mileageplan miles?

I believe they planned to keep it separate. I think this would just simply allow you to book Hawaiian flights via Alaska.

I mean, I’ll happily collect points on rent that I otherwise wouldn’t be getting any points on.
