So for 100% bonus, if you transfer 100,000 BILT points, you get 200,000 Aeroplan points?

Just want to be clear.

Just me or Bilt taking longer to post points from purchases? They’ve posted same day while the transaction is pending for me in the past.

To anyone who scorns the Bilt Card for lack of a SUB, this 2.5X thing more than offsets it. I’m laughing all the way to the (points) bank.

I’m laughing at your 6K points in 3 months. I can get a SUB from a new CC and get 60K points in 3 months.

Can you do that by paying rent with a credit card (and deduct any relevant fees from your bonus?)– because that seems to be the idea here- it’s like 2-3k a month spend you can’t normally get points for (or not without hefty fees bilt avoids)

Bilt does have a (targeted) SUB tho, 5X points for 5 days up to $12,500 of spend

Imagine if you paid your rent with fee free vgcs from Staples bought with a CIC… To where would you then be laughing?

Being able to pay rent with prepaid gift cards without a fee is a fortunate and, I believe, rare circumstance. Or if there is a fee (assuming ~3%), I suppose that many people are not interested in putting in the effort for that arbitrage for 2 pts/$ net vs 1 pt/$ with Bilt.

You mean 2x vs 1x isn’t noteworthy? Kind of like a Bilt transfer bonus?

This is not a big deal even 3% fee you get 5% it is a 2% return.
It is not much of an effort, take me maybe be 15 min max to do that in the old days.

I stop doing that and apply for Bilt last years because they close the loophole not because it is a hassle

Come to my town. Staples opens at 10am. There is a long line waiting outside for the gc. I have never wanted to spend my Sunday morning doing that. In the afternoon the cards are usually sold out

And many buildings don’t take split payment. My former building was charged visa fee of 11% by rent cafe (they said visa demanded the fee). Current building doesn’t take split payment at all. My rent has been well over $1000. The $200 vgc can’t be used.

This is your “imagination” from the past

Yes, I used to able to pay both down my mortgage and apartment commons fee by Staples gift card. At the time you can use MC GC at plastiq for 1.5% fee. and commons fee for 2.5%. However they close down the loophole one by one.

Now none of the Staples gift card work for any of that. The processor close the loophole by

  1. Increase the fee
  2. outright stop Gift card as a payment

Yes that why I bite the bullet an apply for a Bilt
