- 50-100% transfer bonus to British Airways
Our Verdict
You won’t know your transfer bonus until you log in. Normally they tie it to your Bilt elite status, I think there will still be some sort of relationship there but maybe some members with higher elite status won’t see the full 100% bonus?
Blue tier. I have only 4k points and I have received 100% transfer offer.
100%, Silver. I transferred all 14K points I had for 28K Avios. I find Avios really useful for intra-Europe travel, e.g., just redeemed 10K Avios for a flight that would’ve cost $300+.
Gold status only 50% bonus. Discrimination
Blue status, 50%. Still pretty good, but I’d be upset if I were gold.
I think if your BA account is not already linked, you’ll get 100% bonus
Mine has been linked for months and it says 100%
I just linked mine. No change 50% gold status
It won’t change now
Looks like you never transferred to BA
Avios is being devalued, so go all in
Silver status; 84K balance; 100% bonus
Silver status, 64K points at the in my account, BA is linked and I have 100%. Leads me to believe that its either random or its more of a bottom dollar kind of thing. I have been putting more spend on my card recently but also pay it in full so I don’t think I’m the most profitable person for them.
Regarding the current transfer bonus, a Bilt executive made a statement:
” . . . we will strive to ensure we are driving the behaviors our partners want to see . . . “
I would not be surprised in Bilt were to target the higher transfer bonuses to those cardholders who would pose the least dollar risk to Bilt. And, target the lower transfer bonuses to those cardholders who would pose the greatest dollar risk to Bilt. Given the situation with WF (one of Bilt’s partners), I would not be surprised if Bilt investors have pivoted away from a sale of the company and refocused on the company being a cash cow. Thus, minimum award payouts. It would tend to explain the radical changes we’ve seen in the past year.
Maybe… but I have hit their 1x categories pretty hard on this card as I was going for platinum status, which should in theory be their most profitable transaction category. I was given a 50% transfer bonus as a platinum. I use the rent feature for a very small, recurring ACH transaction to pay my water bill.
I have, however, been redeeming points regularly given the instability at Bilt. I have about 1k points now after transferring the bulk to Hyatt for a recent redemption.
I have Bilt Gold, 56k points = 100% bonus. My wife has Bilt Blue, 27k points = 100% bonus. I’ll take it. We’re going all in on this one, as that difference is exactly what we need to shove three of our family into QSuites for an upcoming trip.
Now, you just need a fourth person
QSuites redemption has become very expensive 🙁
How so? US to Seychelles for 85K Avios (so could be 45.2k BILT) in Qsuites… how is that expensive???
What are some nice destinations from West Coast, USA that have QSuites?
I wonder if the %boost is based on how many Bilt points you have sitting in your account? Those with more points would only get 50% boost while those with less get 100%, regardless of Bilt status?
I have 30k points and I got 100%.
I have 11K in my account and got 50%.
I have 40k points. 50%
