Our Verdict
Neither offer is worth considering as we have seen better offers on both cards. For example Blue Cash Everyday recently had an offer for up to $300Â and also bonuses of up to $450. The $450 offers were $250 base bonus and then 5%/10% on specific categories, for example:
- 10% on restaurants up to $2,000 in purchases
- 10% on amazon up to $2,000 in purchases
- 5% on travel up to $4,000 in purchases
- 10% on wireless up to $2,000 in purchases
Because American Express is once per lifetime I’d recommend waiting for a better offer. If you have any questions about American Express cards they are most likely answered here.
Do you know when this offer might come back?
Is there a post where we can post referral links for bce 250 offer?
Bob, I can send you a referral link for the $250 promotion after $1k spend. Please email me at [email protected]
Doc, can I post my referral link here?
No.
Is there a thread for referral links for Amex BCP and BCE cards?.
Not currently
Does anyone know if buying a Visa gift card at Safeway will be counted as supermarket purchase or every day purchase?
I’d like to try to max out that category this year but there is not much time left and it takes two billing cycles to see how much rewards I earned.
Thanks.
Is it still possible to manufactured spend with Amex cards ? Was approved for BCP but the following T&C makes me wonder about manufactured spending ….
If American Express determines that you have engaged or intend to engage in abuse, misuse, or gaming in connection with the welcome bonus offer, we reserve the right to withhold, freeze, or revoke statement credit from your account and cancel any accounts you have with us.
Cash advances, balance transfers, interest charges, fees, purchases of gift cards, person-to-person payments and the purchase or reloading of cash equivalents are not considered purchases for the purpose of the $2000 purchase requirement.
The Blue cash Login now shows refer a friend bonus for $75 and they get $200 after $1000 spend.
Just a couple days ago I was still seeing BCP @ $200 for $1k spend with first annual fee waived, which is better than $250/$1k with $95 fee.

Might be over, from the looks of it. 200/1000 no AF for Preferred was the best offer, IMHO.
i tried signing up for the bc preferred card in the past (already bce holder) but my application was not processed because i already have a BCE (this was confirmed by two different credit analysts.)
I’ve gotten conflicting reports as well from others at american express telling me it should be possible to have both the BCE and BCP simultaneously.
Could anybody comment on this? Anyone here have both cards at the same time?
I had a BCE for a year, was targeted for BCP upgrade.
applied for BCP (not upgrade), got the bonus, then upgraded my BCE to BCP (right now in process of getting the upgrade bonus)
Is It possible to upgrade regular Blue to blue cash everyday or preferred or any other card?
Should be possible since they are all credit, not charge, cards. You are not eligible for a signup bonus when you product change though.
There are sometimes upgrade offers. There was one BCE -> BCP offer this summer.
You should still sign up to the big card first, to get the signup bonus, because of becoming ineligible after upgrade.
Hi.. I am wondering why the chase 80000 business preferred is not listed as a best card? thanks
I am wondering why a chase post in in a amex thread lol. the CIP is a great card but great like all things is in the eye of the beholder. chase and amex both have good points programs, I prefer chase but again everyone has different needs and use
There’s a 100k in branch offer, I’ll readd that I originally thought it had expired.
