Our Verdict
There is currently an American Express offer for $20/2,000 Membership Rewards points when you spend $75+ on Boxed. You should be able to stack these two deals as when using Google Pay it’s still coding as a Boxed purchase. If combining with the American Express deal you’ll want to spend $90+, you’ll get $15 off instantly making your order $75+ and trigger the American Express offer. That means you’d get $90 in product for $55.
You might also be able to stack these other deals:
- Get $20 back in the form of Drop points (can be redeemed for Amazon gift cards) when linking a card and spending $50 on Boxed.com. (Terms there state it can’t be combined with other offers, but hopefully it’ll stack.)
- Get 10% back using the Ibotta portal; otherwise, you can use an ordinary online shopping portal, currently at lower rates (my Ibotta referral link if you’re new there, thanks; you can get a $10 bonus for joining).

Nope. See pay.google.com. FYI, Boxed has fixed the loophole that (a few days ago) let anyone with non-Android (such as Apple iOS) devices apply the $15 coupon. Now the coupon can only be applied on an Android device, either via their app or a web browser. Some were able to make the coupon work using Bluestack (an Android emulator running on regular Windows or Mac computers) without a Google Pay-capable smart phone. Not sure if Boxed has plugged that loophole or not.

I think so. It’s the same “wallet” I used for the recent “AmEx Offer: Google Express, Spend $50+ & Receive $20 Statement Credit” deal. I just switched the Amex card, to the one that has this Boxed.com offer.

How do I pay with Google Pay?
I am the checkout where it says “place order” and I do not see a Google Pay option.

As a first time Boxed user, about two months back I used a referral promo code during checkout, and still ended up receiving the 20k Drop points. It took a little while for them to populate. I have no idea if the Google promo works the same.

I tried Safari and Chrome and neither had it as an option. Also tried downloading the Boxed app, which gave Venmo as an additional option, but still no Google Pay. I tried chat with a CSR to see if they had any insight, and they very quickly informed me Google Pay is only available from Android devices.
As an iPhone 5 user, all of these mobile wallet coupons and incentives are really bumming me out (excepting Chase Pay).

My personal experience with boxed.com related cashback was very negative. They declined all of my cashbacks. Normally stating other promo channel used, whatever that actually means.
I had the drop offer. The $20 was tracked and then clawed back. When i contacted drop customer service, I was told that offer was for first time boxed.com user and there is nothing they can do to help. Yet, the $20 magically reappeared later the same day. I was able to cash that out right away (as gift card).
