Honestly, every time they have a deal like this it makes me question more and more how this is legal. They basically add in such a high tech fee to online transactions it makes it no better than most other airlines. The “base” fare it always something like 40 dollars, the nice upgrades are like 80 dollars and then they finish you off for a tech fee for another $120.

They are able to do this because you can waive the fee by purchasing at the airport after filling out a forum from 10-2 on Tuesdays. Like, does anyone see this and think, “Yep, this is how a business should be transacting in America” or are regulators just completely asleep at the wheel? Maybe I just start selling apple products for 20 dollars but you can only purchase it on my app that I charge a 800 dollar fee to use, but you can submit a request to waive my online fee if you meet me at the top of mount washington on the 4th of July.

Well said. Here is my copy paste of my previous comment so you can decipher the actual discount.

<start>
Really annoying that they try to force you to an account for checkout.
Also deceptive how they only mention the base fare for discounting.
Anyways, for SAN PVD SAN , here’s the actual discount.
Base Fare: 208.93
Total Fare: 317.74
Discount: 94.02
Total: 223.72
Actual discount: 94.02/317.74 = 29.5 %.
For the same dates, you can fly AA for $316, so it’s cheaper to fly breeze (unless you want bags and have an AA CC).

Honestly, it’s not a big deal. They just give you 50% off the base fare of the cheapest ticket, whether you buy nice, nicer, or nicest.
