• British Airways is offering $100 off a flight when you use 5,000 Avios. Applies to any transatlantic round-trip flight to London or Europe in World Traveller (economy) or World Traveller Plus (premium economy), when you travel before December 31, 2019. Must book by February 26th, 2019

The Fine Print

1. This offer is available to British Airways Executive Club Members resident in the United States of America who have an Avios balance of 5000 or more (Eligible Members).
2. Eligible Members must be logged into their Executive Club account at ba.com or call via a British Airways contact centre to participate in this offer.
3. The offer is available when booking British Airways and American Airlines operated transatlantic flights in World Traveller (economy) and World Traveller Plus (premium economy) cabins only, departing from the US to London or Europe (Eligible Flight) and travelling before December 31, 2019. Any routes from the US to the following transatlantic countries are excluded from this offer: Algeria, Morocco, Nigeria and St Petersburg in Russia.
4. In a non-offer period on a transatlantic World Traveller (economy) flight from LAX to LHR, 14,400 Avios is needed for a discount of $116 per person on a round-trip flight. From February 22, 2019 to February 26, 2019, 5000 Avios will give a discount of $100 for a round-trip flight, or 2500 Avios for a discount of $50 on a one-way flight.
5. The offer entitles Eligible Members booking Eligible Flights at ba.com or via a British Airways contact centre, to receive a discount of $100 per person in exchange for 5000 Avios per person (for up to 9 persons within one booking) when travelling before December 31, 2019. If there is more than one person on the booking, the Member must have 5000 Avios per person in their account to take advantage of this offer. E.g. for a round-trip booking with 4 people, the Member must have 20,000 Avios to save $100 per person.
6. Eligible bookings can be made at ba.com or via a British Airways contact centre. Bookings made over the telephone from the US will carry a non-refundable $25 offline booking fee per person per ticket.
7. This offer is available on eligible bookings from Friday February 22, 2019 to 23:59 (EST) Tuesday February 26, 2019 for travel from Friday February 22, 2019 to Tuesday December 31, 2019.

Our Verdict

Cash prices on these types of tickets are already reasonable and become even better with this additional $100 off. 2¢ per point is great value in my opinion, but just make sure you compare to other airlines to ensure you’re getting the best possible deal.
