Our Verdict
There is also a bonus offered by Valley National Bank for $150 upfront and it’s available in the following states: CT, NY, NJ, PA with no direct deposit requirement but you have to be 18-25. That could be a better option for those that don’t want to mess with a direct deposit and bill pays every month. Another thing to keep in mind is that some people have said that Valley National Bank doesn’t approve you if you have more than three ChexSystems inquiries in the last six months.
Because of this we haven’t added it to our list of the best bank bonuses currently available, please share your experiences with this bonus in the comments below.
The offer appeared on their website, so it must be back for August 2018. Valley National Bank is Chex sensitive, and it’s $750 recurring each month for the year, otherwise the account changes and the $20/month stop.
It looks like the current offer is for VNB All Access Rewards Checking with somewhat different terms (direct deposit only), and is only open to residents of NY, NJ, FL.
The “Direct link to offer” just has the bank website. Is there another link with the actual details?
That direct link does have the offer details?
It must be location-senstive. I’m in central Jersey using my phone and my PC, and I just get their basic website with no mention of any offer.
Ah that makes sense
If there is a fee assigned for dropping below $99.00, wouldnt that then be a fee? Meaning an adjustment needed to the summary of the deal? And if they use checkfree, then that would also be worth including in the deal summary.
This bank has been busy making acquisitions in Florida so it’s only a matter of time until we get some FL new account bonus offerings!

What counts as “bills”? Does it have to be automatic payment?
I’m still bitter on missing out on Santander Extra20, so this is tempting, but the thrice monthly bill pay sounds annoying, unless I could do $1 x 3 to the same credit card on autopay. Anyone familiar enough with VBankWorks to speak to how it works?
That’s basically what I did on the Extra20 account, and it worked fine. I’d imagine this is the same.
Supposedly this deal is dead according to at least one branch.
Why is it still being advertised then? Talk about misleading…
Not sure why the site is still up. I called the branch and they said that the promotion was active until 12/31/15 and that the 1.25% product was closed out even earlier. I only called one branch… so maybe this employee was incorrect — but I doubt it.
Interesting, if anybody else can confirm this that would be great. Thanks for the information, Joe.
I called two branches yesterday and got told it ended 12/31. When I argued a little they offered me the $150 bonus on their main page.
This seems dead.
Thanks, Justin. Updated post.
