Hi! It looks like there’s a possible to get a 100/200 referer/referee bonus for frontwave credit union. Anyone here want to refer me?

I’m seeing that the bonus is now $200 but requires $1,000 DD and 30 debit transactions. Code: NEW200

Tried open in branch and the agent says it’s a referral program and asks for the name of the referring member, $100 for the referrer. Anyone still have an existing account and willing to refer?

Check your accounts. I just got another $100 bonus deposited into my savings account on September 16. The original bonus ($100) was deposited on May 9. Description is the same (Dividend Deposit – $100 Offer). Umm. Thanks, Frontier?

The worst credit union I have ever been in. Treat owner-members like potential bank thieves. Suspicious of DEPOSITS even using its own printed deposit forms showing customer name asnd address. I spent 3 decades in financial regulation and have never encountered such anti-customer attitude in branch.

Frontwave is the worst credit union that I have ever dealt with!!
I first applied online for their credit card, with the large bonus last year, and I was approved. However, I was told that I must also apply for membership.

I then applied online for the membership and a $100 bonus checking account but I first called to ask if there was a limit on the credit card funding amount. I was told that there was no limit, so I put down $20K. Then a representative called me and said that I can fund with $250 on each account but she was going to try for $500 each. The accounts were opened but then shut down a couple of days later.

A supervisor explained that they thought that it was suspicious that I wanted to fund with $20K. It was also very suspicious that my social security card was issued more than 20 years after I was born. I tried to explain that I got my social security card after I arrived in the US on a Visa and started to work here.
The next day my credit card was also shut down.

I eventually talked to a manager who told me that Card Churning is illegal and that I am breaking Tax Laws. I asked him what Tax laws I would be breaking, but he wouldn’t tell me. He just continued by stating that what I was doing was unethical and they don’t want me as a customer. He continued claiming that two other institutions had contacted them about me concerning fraud. He wouldn’t tell me who they were (I have no idea what he was talking about).

All this started because I was misinformed by a representative that they didn’t have a limit on their credit card funding….

I was considering reporting the manager to the board of directors, but I skipped it. I didn’t want to waste my time on something that wouldn’t have benefited me anyway….

TB ,
I have done it before with another CU. Larger amount than $20K and multiple times for multiple accounts. Not possible anymore though…

Seems like you got greedy and gave away your churning intentions. Small Banks hate churners and denied you.

The unfortunate downside with these small banks and credit unions. You get employees that overly careful about fraud and take it to whole new level.

AllenW ,
One thing to be overly cautious, another to make up things like I was breaking Tax Laws and that two other institutions had contacted them about me regarding fraud. I had offered to go to the branch in person to show my social security card but that would have been of no use at that point.

I think I would file a complaint against the bank for that kind of treatment

Bonus does NOT post automatically. Make sure to keep scanned copy of the promo. I had to request bonus through secure message on this and also on their credit card deal after the ETA bonus posting dates passed for both.

Even though requested promo via secure message was told direct deposit did not qualify because it was not from a payroll company or Govt deposit. And, they were late posting the credit card bonus too and only did so after multiple secure messages. Kind of shady.

Was it a real direct deposit? If not, you really have no grounds to complain….

Did this bonus last year, they didn’t pay. They are very sensitive to the direct deposit requirement, has to be a payroll company or government agency. Nothing else is acceptable.
