The Offer
- Excite Credit Union is offering bonuses of up to $100 when you use promo code 100BUCKS:
- $50 when you open a GO savings account
- $50 when you open a GO checking account
The Fine Print
- Please allow 3- 6 weeks for bonus to be deposited into your Excite account
- All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them
Avoiding Fees
Monthly Fees
Neither of these accounts has a monthly fee to worry about
Early Account Termination Fee
I wasn’t able to find a fee schedule so unsure if an EATF is charged or not
Our Verdict
Doesn’t look like there are any requirements to trigger either bonus. Not sure if it’s a hard/soft pull and if you can fund with a credit card or not. Go savings account also earns 5% APY, but looks like it has a number of requirements to earn that rate.

APY for the first $2500 in the Go Savings account has been reduced to 2.50% for the first year. No grandfathering in unfortunately.
Not relevant to the expired bonus, but a comment for future readers if a similar offer comes up:
Starting Sep 1, 2020, Excite is charging a $2 paper statements fee. Waived for minors. (Via email, but also on their facebook: https://www.facebook.com/excitecu/photos/a.98929917228/10158366208362229/?type=3)
It now says “To earn the bonus your account needs to remain open and in good standing for 6 months from the opening date. “. Was this always the case?
William Charles Can you update the page if I’m correct?
Bonus has expired now
Can confirm there was Chex. 3 DPs all ~ 8/12 at application, approved.
The expiration date all the way at the bottom:
“The campaign ends February 29th 2020.”
Bonus posted 2/14. $100 to checking.
hi , where do you find your member number ? how many digit is it?
Same, 2/14 post. I actually forgot about it until I checked today
Expiration date is listed as 2/29/20!
Final update: the hold finally cleared today! I had another conversation with them late last week and they reassured me that it should clear this week as they were doing a manual review of the new accounts, and they were true to their word. In our conversations they did ask whether I planned to keep the accounts open, and I repeatedly told them yes, which is the truth. I think $2500 CC funding plus 5% APY on the account for a year with zero work on my end is actually a great deal and will be opening an account for P2 in the coming days.
when does it expire?
