First Entertainment Credit Union is offering a $100 bonus when you complete the following requirements:
- Use promo code NEWMEMBER
- Open a First500 Savings Account or a First500 Youth Savings Account
- Open a Value Checking Account, Advantage Checking,or Teen Checking Account

The Fine Print

Eligibility requirements apply and must be met by the 90th day of account opening to qualify for the $100 bonus.
Offer available to new members joining First Entertainment Credit Union between December 6, 2021, and March 31, 2022, using promo code NEWMEMBER.
A new member is defined as having no previous relationship with First Entertainment Credit Union.
Must open either a First Entertainment Credit Union Value, Advantage Checking Account, or Teen Checking Account with at least $1.00 or more.
The checking account must remain open for a minimum of three (3) months. The bonus will be credited to your checking account within thirty (30) days following the satisfaction of the requirements. Offer does not apply to second or multiple checking accounts and/or existing members with checking accounts.
Eligibility requirements apply and must be met by the 90th day of account opening to qualify for the $50 bonus using promo code NEWMEMBER.
All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them

When I called was told they do a hard pull from Experian as well as pull Chex. The debit card purchases can be either signature or PIN transactions.

Found out, after applying for this and the application going into review, that the promo bonus is only available for members of local 695 even though on the application it lists one of the qualifications is living in Los Angeles County (that would allow me to become a member of the credit union but not be eligible for the bonus).

Oh well, a wasted Checksystems pull.

There is also a $50 bonus offer for signing up for one of their credit cards, auto loans, or personal loans; click on the “Direct link to offer” that Doctor of Credit provided in this post and scroll down to:

There is a “7” footnote that states “Rate and term are dependent on the loan amount. Rates and terms are subject to change without notice. All loans are subject to credit approval. Offer subject to change.”

I applied for a credit card after opening the First500 Savings Account and Value Checking Account but was denied. I spoke with a customer service representative but she refused to tell me why it was denied, only telling me that it was denied by the underwriter and their supervisor (two (2) layers) and to wait for the denial letter to arrive in the mail. After asking her for a phone number to call to appeal, she said to wait for the letter. Maybe it was because I had too many hard pulls recently as I was seeking house mortgage pre-approvals.
