Monthly Fees
This account has no monthly fees to worry about.
Early Account Termination Fee
$20 if closed within 6 months.
Our Verdict
Looks to be a relatively easy bonus, doesn’t seem to be any terms that state it has to be payroll specific. Hopefully it’s not Chexsystems sensitive. Referral program no longer offered.

There is a quarterly low balance fee of $9 if you don’t have $100 in your savings accounts. I just saw this.
There’s also now text to preclude churning: “Offer not available to existing Travis Credit Union members or any members who own or have owned a Travis Credit Union consumer checking account.”
Ya went into a branch after I tried two weeks ago and they were too busy. Got turned away.
It appears the Fine Print and Offer verbiage is outdated for this promo, and doesn’t reflect the new $300 offer. Can this be updated for readers?
I noticed they added some important fine print: “Qualifying direct deposits are payroll or other personal income such as paycheck, pension or government payments (e.g. Social Security) via the Automated Clearing House (“ACH”). Direct deposits processed as a Debit Card or Credit Card credit or via Account to Account or Peer to Peer (e.g. Zelle®, Venmo) transfer or external bank ACH transfer not from employer do not qualify.”
Applied 1/27, Denied 1/29.
“Thank you for applying for a Access Checking account. Unfortunately, your application was denied.”
Anyone have a data point on reconsideration if calling the number?
Applied today online, instantly approved.
For anyone wondering, the field to enter the promo code is on the very last page at the bottom just above the “apply now” button.
Thank you for your interest in Travis Credit Union. After careful review, we are sorry to inform you that we cannot approve your application request for membership at this time.

Do it for the bonus, but the golden era of $12,000 CC funding on multiple sub-accounts is over. THERE IS NO REFERRAL PROGRAM, so stop asking.
Yes, they are very strict on the location requirement. even immediate family of members lives right outside of the area got rejected.
I live within 30 min of a physical branch and am in qualifying county, and got rejected. I think they are chex sensitive and info needs to be updated to reflect that.
Has anyone in LA had success with opening?
Can you not read where it says “ Everyone who lives, works, worships or attends school Solano, Yolo, Contra Costa, Merced, Napa, Alameda, Colusa, Placer, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Sonoma and Stanislaus counties; Military and civilian personnel of Travis Air Force Base; Immediate family members of current members.”
Tried OOS but no eligibility criteria available for me, such as a foundation
