[Expired] Capital One $200 Money Market Account Bonus

Deal has expired, view more bank account bonuses by clicking here

Update 12/17/18: Deal is back and valid until March 31st, 2019. Current data points have shown issues with cumulative deposits, so I assume those will unfortunately no longer work. Hat tip to reader Anbe77

Reposting as this no longer contains the targeted language ‘You must have received an email or mail piece directly from Capital One with a promotional code’. This wasn’t enforced previously, but it’s nice to see it has been removed completely. Hat tip to moneysaver688

Our Verdict

Cumulative deposits in the past has worked (e.g depositing and withdrawing $1,000 10 times), not sure if it will work this time as the terms are slightly different (update, they do work). They have offered a previous bonus only requiring a deposit of $1,000 so it might make sense just to wait for a better offer to come along. Given that cumulative deposits work this shouldn’t be a huge issue though.  I’ve added this to the best savings account bonuses now that the targeted language has been removed.

  • DP-

    3/15 - Opened, deposited $10,000 from Chase
    3/21 - $10,000 posted, $200 bonus posted

I wonder if the reason my bonus posted so quickly was that I deposited the $10,000 during the account opening process rather than pushing from an outside account after the account was opened. In any case, one of the easiest bonuses I've done.

  • Hi guys I got this offer in the mail for the $200/$500 bonus. I was just wondering if they are still denying us former ING direct folks who got bonuses from them in the past? They used to put that language in the fine print but I don't see it there anymore.

  • New offer code is "celebrate"
$500 promo for min $50,000 or more balance in first 90 days
$200 promo for $10,000-49,999 balance in first 90 days

  • Can I transfer in the 10K and then transfer it back out a few days later and still receive the bonus? Or does the 10K need to be in there when the bonus posts?

      • There is no early account termination fee, so you can withdraw the funds and close the account shortly after receiving the bonus and incur no penalty.

        • Thank you! And does the full 10K need to stay in the account until the bonus hits? Or can I withdraw it just a few days after I deposit it and still expect the bonus?

  • Did cumulative deposits method before 12/14 but still hadn't received bonus. Called and rep said I needed to keep 10k in for 60 days but I asked to speak to a manager to verify the fine print. Manager got on the line and agreed that I was right and credited $200 instantly. Process took 10 minutes

  • Met requirements in September. No bonus as of 12/23. Called on 12/23 and was told that all $10,000 needed to be deposited within 10 days and that the offer was only for Quicken users.

I reread the terms to the CSR on the phone, but he demurred. Spoke to supervisor who manually posted $50 x4 and apologized for miscommunication.

Capital One needs some better rep training, but persevere until they fulfill the bonus.

  • Does anyone know if 360 CD will count as a savings product, i opened one last year and so I assume I will be ineligible for this offer ?
