Our Verdict
Nice additional perk for the Venture cards, especially Venture X. Capital One often releases these kinds of bonus points partnership offers. Hopefully this one ends up staying around for the long haul.
Great, if only this had rolled out a couple months ago when I dropped 1k+ on Turo!
Does anyone know if Turo rentals will be covered by Venture X’s Auto Rental Collision Damage Waiver?
No, from what I’ve read, none of the major credit card companies cover Turo rentals since it’s a peer-to-peer service.
I sure would like to see a Spark Miles Plus, business version of Venture X.
Have people had good experiences with Turo? I have heard horror stories on social media, so I am still skeptical.
I’ve been pretty happy with them on 3 trips so far. I’m still careful to pick a “safe” host with plenty of high ratings and to document EVERYTHING in the pre- & post-trip pictures.
i used turo about three years ago to rent a new toyota camry hybrid. Great experience. Took it all the way to monterrey from LA and then back. Returned it full of road bugs on the grill and front the car. Not sure how profitable it is for the renter but great on the buyer side for specific gas saving cars such as hybrids.
I was about to use Turo but thankfully I read all the reviews. Wow. Such empty. No thanks.
owner specific or Turo in general?
a lot of bad stories about Turo – horrible CS and bad owners. @Bob has a good point if primary coverage is now included

I’ve had 4 positive experiences with Turo rentals. You need to be selective with owners and read reviews.
The real question is if this partnership will now also include Turo in the primary rental car insuanrace offered by capital one. That would make this an actually useful benefit.
Yep! That’s the $10,000 question!
Bob absolutely. haven’t used Turo yet as no credit card offers primary coverage when renting from them.
That is a no. Turo is not categorized as a rental company and it is indeed a peer to peer car sharing company. No credit card will offer insurance for Turo.
