Our Verdict
Has been as high as $250 in the past. Some people also like having a Quicksilver card as they offer various promotions such as: Uber, Spotify & hotels.com deal. Though you might be better off getting the Venture card with 60,000 points and then product changing it to this card instead. Check out these things to know about Capital One credit cards before applying. Keep in mind that Capital One pulls all three credit bureaus.
So if one already has a Quicksilver card, could I get another one for a $300 bonus and then later merge the two cards into one?
Targeted or not?
On log in to account and following the link to their CreditWise page for a new updated score, I see an offer for Quicksilver for $300 bonus on $500 spend in 90 days with 0% for 15 months.
Followed it though on mobile and the application did not prefill.
Went in via Desktop (Vivaldi browser) and saw the same offer. This time, the application did prefill. Followed it through and once submitted, I got an email that they needed an OL and SSCard uploaded. Tried that three times, but it didn’t take. Said try again later, or call. Will try in the morning I guess.
Got alerts from several services about a new credit inquiry though, so something is in process.
May have resized the images too small. Tried again with larger versions and got a successful upload message.
And just got the approval email. My highest limit card so far outside of a Lowes store card. High APR though, 25.74%, but I don’t plan on carrying a balance after the initial 0% period.
Got a $300 for $500 spend pre qualified offer in the mail. I would want to stay under 5/24 but if I am I’d take it.
Got the same offer, automatically rejected due to “having too many credit cards” I only have 6 or 7 though
I applied in early May and I got the exact same offer! Mine came as a WEMC.. Are all Quicksilver cards now WEMC?
DGS what is WEMC ? Thanks
WEMC is World Elite Mastercard. The WEMC has a few more travel benefits than standard Mastercard. It also has a shiny silver logo rather than the plain red and yellow circles.
Hope this datapoint helps someone:
850 credit score, homeowner with many credit cards and never missed a payment on anything, previous car and student loans, all paid off now, 3/24. Denied.
Missed a few payments for 3-4 months each, paid them late, missed a few more again, home was foreclosed, burned down house before bank could get it to pay bills with insurance fraud, 3 years in state prison, filed for bankruptcy, convicted felon. Approved.
Andy you right! Same situation here.. denied with 815 score 4/24.
I already have one, can I apply for it again and get the bonus?
I think they limit you to two. I got a sub on my second Quicksilver.
I applied and I was denied with my 798 credit score. Do they only approve US citizen applications?
They don’t seem to approve people with good credit. I filled out the qualification on their site with similar credit score and they offered me a secured card and one with $40 annual fee for people with fair credit.
Their approval process for their no-AF cards is very opaque, and they seem to like balance carriers.
However, they will approve people with excellent credit for the Venture X without much of a fight (although they are inquiry and new account sensitive.)
Cap one has always denied me even when I had my best stats as a US citizen.
Is there a maximum number of capital one credit cards that one person can have?
I remember AMEX only allows one person to have 4 AMEX cards.
Thanks.
I think its 2
Sometime in the past year or two, I found an explicit answer on CapitalOne’s site (I think it might’ve been on a card application or FAQ page) that stated a limit of 5 cards total. But it also stated a limit of 2 cards for the ones that are more for new/rebuilding credit (I think they say “good credit”): Platinum, and Quicksilver One.
At the moment, I cannot find that language anywhere on their site. However, I did open a 3rd Capital One credit card in November 2021 without any issues.
It’s baffling why *Capital One* would try to attract new applicants.
What do you mean? Of course all banks, including Capital One want to attract new applicants.
I meant that they seem to love rejecting well-qualified applicants. And of course poorly-qualified applicants likely won’t be approved either.
Hasn’t this always had a $200 bonus, and isn’t the Venture offering 75k bonus right now?
