Our Verdict
This offer likely won’t last long, we have seen a $1,000 bonus and $750 bonus before but they expired shortly after posting. This offer basically works out to be 12% cash back on all purchases on $10,000 in spend (10% from the sign up bonus and 2% from the card itself). It might be difficult for some people to hit that $10,000 spend requirement though so keep that in mind. Most businesses shouldn’t have too much trouble.
Keep in mind that Capital One pulls all three credit bureaus. You can freeze your Experian or TransUnion reports and they will just pull the other two and still approve you. Personally a triple pull doesn’t concern me as much as it used to, but it will depend on what your credit profile is like and where you live (e.g in some areas all issuers will only pull the same bureau so having inquiries on the other two bureaus doesn’t really matter). If you’re not familiar with Capital One please read these things everybody should know about Capital One credit cards first. No, when I applied for the $750 bonus a month back, it went to pending and after a week got an email stating my app has been approved.

app went thru fine. 10 days later I got a call from Cap1 asking for a verification #. Didn’t have one so they killed the app. Seems like they’re catching onto stolen reservation #s.

I got approved for one of these in May, but looking at grabbing another. Sounds like they have cottoned on.
Well, I tried and got shot down. Official reason:

Woot! Just got insta-approved via a link by manipulating the last three digits of the offer URL. Card number already shows up in my cap1 online profile with other cards and deposit accounts. I think the links returning errors might be targeted offers generated by cap1 but not yet sent to the intended customers.

I believe it’s dead now. Probably will pop up months later, but may be by invitation only. I was planning to close my account after I got the bonus. But I’m thinking about maintaining it and hopefully they waive the annual fee for the 2nd year.

It took I swear 30 seemingly working applications giving an error message about the connection plus about 50 manipulations, but that’s worth the extra $500. Happy for the approval, sad for the small SL.
This card does report to personal too so another downside, but I wasn’t gonna be under 5/24 anytime soon I guess.
Received the invitation letter in 2017,Applied two cards and found the link still there. CS said you can reapply after 6 months.
I wrote a little macro to search for unused and valid links. My friend and myself applied using two of these and were instantly approved. We also called CS the next day to confirm that the $1K offer was attached to the accounts.
I wonder if someone else may get the code in a mailer and then, when trying to apply, get the message “An application has already been submitted using the reservation code you entered. Please be assured that the reservation code is not tied to you”. He/she may get upset and there is nothing CS could do about it….

Can confirm this is still alive and kicking as of 5/22. Just played around with the last digits to find an active offer and applied. Instant approved! First time I have been instant approved for any credit card oddly enough. New to churning which likely helped me since I am only 2/24 (5/24 counting business also). Have no current relationship with Capital One and never have had any.
