Capital One Venture Card To Offer TSA PreCheck/Global Entry

Capital One is adding a new benefit to the Venture card on June 12th, cardholders can receive a rebate on the application fee for either:

  • TSA PreCheck ($85)
  • Global Entry ($100)

Global Entry includes PreCheck, so you might as well get that. I suspect this new benefit addition will be mostly useless to readers of this blog due to the vast amount of other cards already offering this benefit. The application fee is rebated automatically though, so maybe you can just pay for a friend or family members Global Entry fee for them if you already have it. This card also offers 2x points per $1 spent on all purchases and 10x on Hotels.com currently (although this benefit changes, previously it was a discount for Spotify and before that it was Uber)

Whats the best way to use the Capital One Miles if canceling the card soon? Don’t use much of their airlines like air France… just either southwest or AA. Can get a little on mobile services…

Just a quick data point to confirm that my SO received the targeted 60K bonus offer that listed the Global Entry/TSA Pre app fee credit as well as the 10 miles per dollar via hotels.com link benefits. Targeted offer expires 10/5/18. We do have existing checking/savings with Cap One.

Half way through the conversation the line went dead. They couldn’t locate my card and yet I have been a member since 2006. They said I was already enrolled but I have no proof. Is this a scam?

Can rebae be paid retroactively? I just purchased Pre-checks for myself and my entire family before our upcoming trip Rome, Italy?

Is this for all current card holders or only new applicants?

Both. I’m a current cardholder and I got the email about the new benefit yesterday (6/12).

Every time we fly the ticket will be TSA approved without ever applying for TSA . I believe coming back from Grand Cayman in 2015 we had a quick thru immigration near shift close and used TSA photo id machine. Now always TSA approves without fee.

My guess is it hasn’t been released to the call center people yet. Once again, DoC gets the inside scoop!

Whoa, that would be HUGE, are there any other lower-annual-fee cards that offer a benefit like this?

(also to clarify, I am an existing Venture customer who also happens to have taken advantage of a no-annual-fee-ever offer on this card… if this benefit is true, it should be available to all existing users as well, right?)

The BOA premium rewards credit card is $95 a year and pays for TSA precheck or GE. I just used that 2 weeks ago.
