Cardcash and ABCGift Cards are now accepting electronically submitted gift cards with no reduction in payout.
In The Complete Guide to Selling your Unwanted Gift Cards for Cash, we detailed which gift card exchanges will allow us to sell the card electronically and which require physical submission. A year back, only Saveya and Raise allowed electronic gift cards at full price; Cardpool and Cardcash/ABC deducted 5% when submitting electronically, and Giftcardzen did not allow e-gift cards at all.
A lot has changed over time. Giftcardzen also changed some time ago and began allowing electronic submission. They also increased their velocity threshold up to $600 per week.
Cardcash and ABC Gift Cards are now showing the same payout rate for electronically submitted gift codes as for physical submission.
Note that you should compare rates between Cardcash and ABC to check which has the best rate; while both are the same company, the rates vary a lot between the two. Seems like ABC is 5% higher at the moment – these things vary a lot and probably won’t hold true forever.
Not all gift cards will be able to be submitted electronically. Notably, gas gift cards always require physical submission, and there are others as well. It also varies somewhat by the exchange.
The easiest way to see whether you can submit a gift code electronically is by checking out the rates on Giftcardwiki or Giftcardgranny. Both have tools to show if it can be submitted electronically. Note that I’ve found them to be wrong on this from time to time.
