Update 7/5/22: Down to $50 now
Cardless has launched a new co-branded card with the New Orleans Pelicans. Card has the following benefits:
- $300 bonus after $2,000 in spend within the first three months
- Card earns at the following rates:
- 10% off concessions at the Smoothie King Center
- 10% off off at the Pelicans Team Store online and in venue
- 4x points
- Pelicans tickets
- Gas
- Bars & restaurants and select food delivery services
- 1x points on all other purchases
- No annual fee
Cardless has a few interesting cards with good category bonuses. Unfortunately cards that Cardless president said wouldn’t be reported to credit reports ended up being reported. 4x on gas and dining is very competitive, especially on a no annual fee card.
Hat tip to VFTW
Got this gem of an email today. Guess this joke of a bank ain’t ready to play with the big boys.
We’re reaching out with an update about your New Orleans Pelicans Card. Unfortunately, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue this card.
As of today, your account is closed, and your card can no longer be used for new purchases. We understand this news may be disappointing, and we want you to know we’re here to help make this transition as smooth as possible.
Here’s what you need to know
Redeeming rewards
Your rewards balance will be redeemed automatically as a statement credit redemption and applied to your account. If your rewards exceed your balance, we’ll process a credit to your bank account on file. Please do not make any bank account changes while the transaction is being processed. It may take up to 5 days for the funds to reflect in your account.
If you have any additional questions or concerns, please reach out to us at the number on the back of your card, or by emailing us at [email protected].
If you have any questions or need assistance, our team is ready to help. Don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re here to make this process as straightforward as possible.
Sincerely,
Cardless

The card no longer seems to be offered, but benefits are still grandfathered in.
Got denied. I think it’s because I did the same bonus with the Celtics card a couple months ago.
I got this bonus with the Celtics card in late 2021. Right after I got the card, they added an additional $100 bonus if I spend x amount (I think $1000) during December. I think it was a Christmas bonus. I didn’t even need to spend the additional $1000, just by spending my $2000, it counted towards the Christmas $1000.
Just a heads up in case any keeps the card, you may have an additional bonus opportunity closer to Christmas.
Quick payout and easy redemption.
Eh, promoting referral pages isn’t my main priority.
Any known restrictions on the spend?
This card is great so far. no muss no fuss with stupid security declining transactions like major banks
Agree. I found the IT to be good, both on app and computer. I was able to link bank accounts using Plaid. I got my 300 in points when I met the spend (a day later). I was able to redeem my points THAT DAY (I chose to pay down my balance) and the transaction posted 1/2 hour later. The interface is simple and well thought out. I am very pleased with my Pelican card and this is a card I can keep as there is no fee!! The only thing I could not do immediately is I called to have them lower my credit limit and they had to put in a request which was honored about 5 days later I received an email.
Oh and also I got declined at an airport Burger King. This was actually my fault because i never activated the physical card (the number in the app is the virtual card number). I called them from the airport, got a human being instantly (who could speak English); she solved the issue immediately. The phone rep isn’t a phone tree of endless options, twists, and turns. You actually get a person and one that can communicate effectively. This amazed me. I got better service on cardless Pelican than I do on Sapphire Reserve.
So for new account, do they do a hard pull when you apply and what credit bureau? Thanks.
Hard pull, experian
