Cardless No Longer Offering Lots Of Sports Team Cards

It looks like Cardless is no longer offering any of the sports credit cards:

It’s unclear what will happen for existing cardholders and if this is permanent or if these cards will return.

  • Cardless is trash -> I had a merchant not able to use a gift card saying they couldn't accept the card. They gave me a total run around and I disputed the charge. Cardless sided with the restaurant. Said restaurant would close about two months later. Tried redeeming for rewards and they would send me a gift card to another team they managed.

  • So glad I got the Pelicans one, referred my P2, got the referral bonus and we both got the $300 SUB. I’m grandfathered in, so I still have the 4x back on Restaurant AND Gas at $0 AF. Plus, only need $2 minimum to redeem rewards. Hope they don’t stop this card as it’s one of the best credit cards out there.

  • My Boston Celtics card is still good with 7% on streaming and rideshare. (Though I use my SavorOne for Uber and CSR for Lyft, which earns 10x Venture Miles and 10x Ultimate Rewards Points respectively)

    • I know you can do better with points, but 4x on restaurants is basically top end for straight cashback. 7% is probably the best for streaming, I think the next best is 6% with the Amex BCP.

And I got in with the $300 sign up bonus. No regrets getting this card.

I almost always use rideshare with gift cards, so I always forget that they have that category, but that's solid af too.

  • This has been going on for a while, but it looks like existing cardholders will get to keep their cards. I have the Man Utd Cardless and don't use it often, so about a week ago they sent an email requesting to make at least one purchase within the following 14 days in order to keep the account open. (I used the card the same day at the restaurant overseas, where it earns a solid 3% cash back with no FTFs.)

    • Same experience for me with the Cleveland Cavaliers card.
Got the notification, then used it for a small purchase to keep it active, since it still has e.g. 3% for grocery so worthwhile for me to keep as a backup...

      • They are not popular cards among consumers, but they indeed proved reasonably good for certain aspects, especially if someone was able to sign up with the huge bonuses they were handing out at the start of their adventure. My only meaningful use of the Man Utd card is now for restaurants overseas, but that's where I have dinner 4+ months/year, and it is among the best cards to that purpose.

I'm glad Cardless didn't follow Deserve's example with Krowdfit, another underrated fintech card that had a few good 4% categories. (Krowdfit shut down its operations a couple months ago, so Deserve left this card technically open but discontinued its use.)

    • Except an easy $300 SUB... normally that wouldn't be worth a 5/24 slot.

But it was nice during the time Chase biz apps were locked down.
