Cardless & Qatar To Launch Two New Credit Cards, Join Waitlist For Extra 5,000-10,000 Point Bonus

Cardless & Qatar have partnered to launch two new co-branded credit cards. If you join the waitlist now you’ll get up to 10,000 additional points when the cards launch (must join by May 3, 2024). Cards and additional bonuses are as follows:

  • Visa signature: Extra 5,000 points
  • Visa infinite: Extra 10,000 points

Qatar uses Avios, the same rewards program as British Airways, Iberia & Aer Lingus. All of those airlines have cards with Chase currently. Unfortunately we don’t have any details on what the launch bonus or other benefits/annual fee will be on these new cards but it’s worth joining the waitlist just in case it’s good.

It lost its value on the first impression itself. $500 for gold status and just first year? No, Thank you.

Considering I’m avoiding flying on neo-facist Qatar going forward, yikes nope. They haven’t even compensated me for their luggage handlers ditching my bag yet.

Neither Qatar Airways nor Cardless have a great reputation, so I am guessing the SUB/perks will probably be meh.

Personally, I’d stay away from Cardless. I still have their Liverpool card, but back when they de-listed that card from their website I looked back through LFC’s official sponsors page archive and noticed Cardless had been dropped from the page 1-2 months prior to DoC’s post in January.

One of the perks that’s supposed to come with the card was a yearly code for an international membership. I tried using it but it hadn’t refreshed from the year prior. Contacted email support about it and after not hearing back from them within a week that added to my suspicion. I didn’t want to just lose out on all those points (30k SUB + spend over 2 years), so I cashed out for a statement credit.

Three weeks after my initial email, they emailed to say they were investigating and would let me know when they had an update. They credited me with 5k points for my inconvenience, which, lol, monopoly money at this point. Haven’t heard from them since.

One of the things you can use points towards are team/player-signed jerseys. Not too long ago, I noticed that their redemption valuations had been cut in half, which to me is another red flag. Shame, I was able to get pretty great tickets last year through a redemption and hoped to keep using it, but now I put zero spend on the card.

Their TAP card gave like 60k miles at launch, iirc. Probably best not to get one’s hopes up.

I have this card and referred P2 and ended up with 80K as a result. That’s the good news.
The bad news is that TAP’s program generally sucks. Poor rates and high taxes, assuming that you can even find a flight that works for you.

At least this one uses Avios, so you know what you’re getting and can transfer to any other airline that uses them if Qatar’s system doesn’t work for you.

They suck. They have a one-per-lifetime account rule, which doesn’t matter if you closed an account in the past you are still not eligible for a new account. I had a Celtics card with them in the past but I still can’t open a new account.

Just a reminder that you’re only allowed to have ONE Cardless product across their entire lineup.

Interesting it’s coming as a Visa Infinite. I wonder if this is going to be a wave of more issuers shifting towards Infinite rather than Signature so they can collect higher interchange fees.
