Cardpool To Launch New Marketplace To Buy & Sell Giftcards

Cardpool has just sent out an e-mail to it’s users announcing an update to their terms and service. The reason for the update is that on June 12th they will be launching Cardpool Marketplace. This will work like this:

  • You list the price you want
  • You wait for somebody to purchase your card
  • Cardpool sends you a check or Amazon gift card

This is how Raise works. It isn’t clear what fees will be charged and they also mention that material changes will be made to their resolution process. New users of Cardpool can currently also get $5 off (e.g $10 gift card for $5).

I have a Cardpool related question. I tried to sell them $800 worth of restaurant gift cards that I had obtained using Amex offers. They initially accepted them, then sent an email saying their risk assessment team nixed the deal, and they are “not able to disclose any further specifics regarding this process.” Any suggestions?

I’d just try selling elsewhere. This happens to many, very frustrating.

It’s June 12, 2017 – I don’t see any changes on their site

The 1 year guarantee that has a max of $1000 per lifetime is a deal breaker for me. How can you put a limit on guaranteeing your customers actually get what they pay for?

I agree, one year is insane for the sellers…

Are they also killing the service that actually pays you on delivery? I want guaranteed money now, not a guessing game on price and a waiting game on payment.

Competition is good. Hopefully lower fees and none of the exclusive seller BS on raise.
