Our Verdict
This bonus is really not that exciting, we’ve seen bonuses of up to 60,000 miles publicly available and 65,000 targeted bonuses. Even a public offer of 35,000 miles with the annual fee waived would be better for most people. I’d recommend just waiting for a better bonus to come along.

First, I agree that 40K with AF is not a bonus, it’s a joke. Second, keep in mind who you’re dealing with. It’s Synchrony! I applied for a TARGETED 65K offer, and they gave me a $300 credit line. Targeted my ass! This is the bank that hires robots who have zero power to deviate from whatever their computer tells them. I ended up canceling their sorry-ass card, so think twice.
I still regret that I applied this card last year when offer was 50k miles/2500 spent. The card they send me has been lost. I called them and they send me a new one to my new moved address. Everything seems fine until one day they report me 90 days late. When they send me new card, they created a new account but does not zero out the annual fee charged on lost account. They report both accounts to credit bureaus, made me over 5/24. It’s took me 8 months and a lot of calls to them and credit bureaus just for removing the late mark. All 3 credit bureaus refuse to remove the lost account on my credit report. I’ll never open another card with them.
P/S: Asia miles is hard to understand, hard to redeem for a good value and they expire after 3 years.
300 credit line — bwahahaha! I picked up this card in July and they gave me 6k. I could have sworn my offer was 40k miles for 1500 spend, but everywhere I look it’s 2k spend. I wish I could find my original itinerary
what’s the churnability on this? I literally just closed my last one cause AF hit. Waiting for an AF waived offer either way.
Also curious here about this card’s churnability. I searched FlyerTalk forums without finding any datapoints.
I’m also curious about this.
Applied and got rejected since I had the card and cancelled it in may. Aldo to William Charles first year marco polo green isn’t free, it’s $100 but asia mile membership is free.
There is ” Only one Welcome Bonus Miles offer per person. Not available to applicants who have or have had the Cathay Pacific Visa card.” in the T&C. Is this like AMEX? Once per lifetime?
Sign up for an Asia Miles account and you should get one of the targeted offers.
