For awhile there has been one bank that were operating under two names: Charter One & Citizens Bank. Charter One serviced MI & OH while Citizen’s Bank services CT, DE, MA, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, and VT. This was particularly confusing when these banks offered bonuses as we’d need to send some readers to one website and other readers to the other site.
They’ve finally ditched the Charter One name and now all of those branches will operate under Citizens Bank. Unfortunately they no longer offer their credit card that earn 5% on gas and grocery store purchases (it’s since been replaced with a card that earns up to 1.8% cash back on all purchases). When you visit the Charter One website you’ll see the following message:
