In early June it was announced that Chase would partner with The Club to start opening Chase Sapphire Lounges, we knew that the first lounge opened would be in Boston (located n the connector between Terminal B & C) but we now know of two other lounges opening:
- Hong Kong (HKG) located in Terminal 1
- New York (LGA) located in Terminal B
These lounges will be accessible to Priority Pass members, which is somewhat strange as it presumably means that American Express Platinum cardholders will also have access. We still don’t have details on if there will be discounted rates for other Chase cardholders or if it will be restricted to the Chase Sapphire Reserve that currently offers Priority Pass membership.
Why is Chase adding a lounge at Hong Kong airport now? Interesting timing considering that the Chinese Communist Party has locked down on Hong Kong’s autonomy in recent months/years. Then again, it’s not a surprise considering how Chase/JP Morgan is in bed with the CCP.
AT CLE, you can only gain access to the priority pass lounge if you have priority pass through a chase card (I was denied with my amex platinum generated PP). My bet is this will be the same
CLE is a restaurant credit for PP (at Bar Symon), not a lounge, right now. Amex discontinued PP restaurant credits a while. This new lounge will be an actual lounge, not a restaurant.
*shakes magic 8 ball*
“Oh magic 8 ball, will ORD ever get a Centurion/Sapphire lounge”
*No*
There’s no space lol. I would not want them in Terminal 5.
HKG? Ugh. It is waning as an international hub deliberately that the Chinese gov wants to promote Schenzen to overtake it and the liberal people know HKG’s new Security Law makes it more dangerous for anti-communists.
No one cares
I care
SZX???
You must be kidding!!!
You know nothing about Pearl River triangle.
CAN is way more important than SZX.
Yea HKG is gonna see declining passenger volume for sure even after the pandemic
Count me as part of that declining passenger volume. I’ve been wanting to go to Hong Kong for years but will pass now because of the atrocities that the Chinese Communist Party has committed towards the Hong Kong people and government.
Chase is officially bowing out of the premium market with this if all PP members have access.
CSR is a product that Chase sort of regrets creating. It’s semi-premium but not Amex Platinum type branding.
execution or marketing failure?
at least there is no RAT or CB claw back yet
Wow.
Worst use of a lounge.
Good luck getting in, in other words.
It’s a good development for HKG as Plaza Premium had left the Priority Pass network.
The Club lounges usually don’t provide that much thought. Hopefully they increase the quality.
Being a Priority Pass lounge kinda defeats the purpose of a Chase-branded lounge concept. Might as well be open to the random general public.
Verdict: outraged.
If you want Bud heavies & tri-color cheese cubes there’s no finer establishment.
I do want those things
