Chase British Airways: 100,000 Point Bonus After $7,500 In Spend (Aer Lingus & Iberia)

The Offer

Direct link to offers: British Airways | Aer Lingus | Iberia

  • Chase is offering 100,000 points on the Chase British Airways card after $7,500 in spend within the first six months

Our Verdict

We once saw a bonus that was 100,000 after $5,000 in spend but we haven’t seen that for multiple years. Other recent bonuses include 125,000 points for $20,000 spend or 75,000 points for $5,000 spend. I do think this bonus is competitive and probably the best points:spend ratio we have seen for a long time, so if you think it’s worth using a 5/24 slot for this card then I’d recommend signing up and will add it to our best credit card bonus page.

Anyone know if Chase will match this offer when opening via referral? Referral link only shows 75k/$5k/3mos bonus

Has anyone had the Chase BA card and then downgraded to the no-fee version and then successfully applied for a new Chase BA card? I got the Chase BA card in 2017 with bonus points and then downgraded to the no-fee version the following year. I just applied for the Chase BA card again yesterday and today I got a notice that I wasn’t approved because I apparently have the card already, which I don’t. I wonder if this is worth pursuing.

Dudaday I imagine they consider them part of the same “card family” – I’d image if you close the one you have and reapply you should be eligible. Thanks for bringing up the no AF card, didn’t even remember that being a thing and I’ve churned this card like 3 times already lol

What credit bureau do they use when you apply? I’m in Kansas and just want to make sure I will get approved. I also want to get the Aer Lingus one as well.

I just opened this card 2 weeks ago. How do I call and ask to get this offer instead?

Why would anyone do this when they can get Inks intead? Unless they hate flexible rewards.

How many Inks can you actually get? I keep on seeing people have several, but I am confused about the technicalities. Any link I could read or any ELI5? Thanks in advance!

Discussed in depth over at r/churning. You can hold multiple Inks at the same time – for same business or a different business.

You get 6 months do to the spend with BA. Some people may not be able to swing $6k in 3 months for an INK.

It is hard to find value for these miles and book as well. The websites are buggy and customer service is non-existent.

Even if we find availability, the fuel surcharge makes it less valuable

I’ve been using Avios for years. They are some of the most valuable points out there. You don’t have to use them for BA if you want to avoid surcharges. Transfer them to Iberia or book on BA for partner airlines.

Don’t get me started with Iberia. I had to cancel a booking 4 months back due to plan change and I am still waiting for them to process the refund of Avios and surcharge. I am following up every week with them.

Iberia shows decent availability but when trying to redeem if there is first class, premium econ, or sometimes a mix of carriers I always get an error in the app.

Not very good imho, since Avios just got huuugely devalued for US-based travelers
