[YMMV] Chase Credit Journey Now Powered By Experian

Chase launched ‘Chase Credit Journey‘ back in 2016 to offer a free credit score and credit monitoring. Chase has made significant updates to the credit journey program in recent weeks, the biggest of which seems to be that it’s now powered by Experian data. Previously it was powered by TransUnion data. Unfortunately it’s still providing users with a VantageScore 3.0 score rather than a FICO score. Credit Karma will still be more useful for most people.

Update: Still showing as TransUnion for some, so this might be a beta test.

I just noticed that my the score on Journey (showing Experian for me) is different from my score on the Experian site. Is this normal?

as long as it still uses VantageScore it’s 100% useless.
Not to mention CreditJourney shows an incorrect 5/24 number (not counting closed accounts), I don’t know if they did this intentionally or what..

VantageScore is such a scam on everyone when no company uses it.

Bummer. Chase Credit Journey was my only free source of monthly TransUnion data. I was already getting monthly Equifax data from multiple financial institutions, and Experian provides their data via an app, and it also powers Discover’s Credit Scorecard. Seems like Experian is growing market share rapidly these days.

Can you not use CreditKarma for TU?

Credit Wise from Capital 1 should be free to everyone even without C1 accounts and it generates from TU

Weird, I use Discover and it’s based on TransUnion data. Wonder why there’s so much variation.

yes, i noticed this a few days ago. if you’re a data geek and you haven’t been converted to ex, make sure that you export your data now bc it doesn’t transfer over. luckily, i had been doing that or i would have been ticked off.

Still Transunion for me.

Yup. There are so many ways to get free reports and free FICO scores. Hard to see how this would be a particular standout, especially as it is only one bureau and a non-FICO score.

Probably still rolling out across their accounts/systems, as mine is still powered by TransUnion.
