Chase & DoorDash Partnership Details (Free Dashpass, $10 Grocery, $5 Restaurant Credits)

We wrote about the partnership of Chase and DoorDash. Some of the details changed now in February 2025, and so I thought to review the current details in a single, clean post. (You can see the prior post and update versions here.) Let us know if anything needs further clarification.

Chase partners with DoorDash on various cards and offers benefits: free Dashpass, $10 monthly discount off non-restaurant orders, and $5 off restaurant orders.

  1. Free Dashpass benefit –
    • The Sapphire cards (Sapphire Reserve, Sapphire Preferred, and plain Sapphire) can activate free DashPass membership through December 31, 2027. (If Dashpass is activated during 2027, you’ll get one full year of Dashpass from the date of activation.
    • All Freedom card versions and Slate cards can activate free Dashpass for 6 months. Activate by 12/31/25 for a free six months. (Readers in the comments note that if you previously got 3 months DashPass from a card under the old promo system you will not be able to get this new 6 months promo. When a card number changes it always resets the promo eligibility.)
    • Chase co-branded cards such as Southwest, IHG, etc, etc, can activate free Dashpass for 12 months. Activate by 12/31/25 for a free 12 months. All Chase Co-Brand credit cards are eligible except the Amazon card, Instacart card, and DoorDash card.
    • Note: after the promo period you will be auto-enrolled in full price Dashpass if you don’t cancel it. This is not relevant for the Sapphire cards which get continuous benefit through December 2027, and apparently that will not auto-renew for a paid membership.
    • You can only have Dashpass active from one Chase card at a given time, and so you can’t double up on the discounts by having two Chase cards linked to the same DoorDash account. You can activate the Dashpass with a new Chase card after the old promo period ends, e.g. after getting free Dashpass for 6 months with A Freedom card, you can activate Dashpass with another Freedom or Slate card to get another 6 months.
  2. $5 Restaurant credit
    • Only the Sapphire Reserve card gets the $5 restaurant order discount credit.
    • Credit comes on the first of each calendar month and can be used once during the month. There is no roll-over on this credit and you can not accumulate a few to use together (as was the case in the prior system). It’s just a flat once-per-month $5 credit toward restaurant orders, use it or lose it at the end of the month.
    • This $5 restaurant credit can be combined with other DoorDash promo codes. (You can only use one promo code per order, but this $5 discount comes as a separate line-item credit.)
    • To avoid delivery fees and tips, can look for restaurants that allow pickup.
    • To activate this $5 benefit, you need to first activate the free DashPass benefit. After activation, the $5 credit will show up as an option at checkout. Be sure to apply it at checkout.
  3. $10 non-restaurant credit  – this credit is valid only for purchases outside of restaurants, such as at grocery and convenience stores.
    • Sapphire Reserve cardholders get two of these $10 credits each calendar month which can be used on two separate orders. You can not combine the two credits. You can not accumulate credits from month to month. It resets on the first of each month with two new credits.
    • Sapphire Preferred cardholders get one $10 credit each calendar month. Readers in the comments note that the Sapphire (plain) card is also getting this $10 monthly credit.
    • You can not accumulate credits from month to month. It resets on the first of each month with a new $10 credit.
    • The various Freedom cards, Slate, and Chase co-brand cards get one $10 credit each quarter. You can not accumulate credits from quarter to quarter. It resets on the first of each quarter with a new $10 credit.
    • This $10 credit can be combined with other DoorDash promo codes. (You can only use one promo code per order, but this $10 discount comes as a separate line-item credit.)
    • To avoid delivery fees and tips, can look for stores that allow pickup.
    • To activate the $10 benefit, you need to first activate the free DashPass benefit with the card. After activation, the $10 credit(s) will show up as an option at checkout. Be sure to apply it at checkout.
    • If the full $10 is not redeemed on a single order, the remaining value will be forfeited.

I had not been interested in using the grocery credit, since I wasn’t aware of anywhere it worked with that allowed pickup and it didn’t end up being worth using once you paid the higher prices and tip. But I discovered that my local 7-Eleven does allow pickup, and was able to get a gallon of milk and two 2-packs of hard-boiled eggs completely free today ($9.97 before discount). I’m kind of afraid to try their wings, but I could get five wings and eight nuggets for free as well since they come out to $9.98. I guess it can’t hurt to try, given that I have multiple DD accounts with the offer and it’s free money. The only other local places I’ve found for pickup are liquor stores and we don’t drink much.

If anyone lives in Suffolk County, NY, there is a grocery in West Babylon with decent prices on milk and eggs that allows pickup.

WaWa works also if you have any in your area. That’s what I mainly use for my 2 $10 monthly credits.

Thanks, I’m in NY but there’s one near my son in NJ. I’ll see if there’s anything he wants.

I definitely would recommend their hoagies. 1 of those should get you close to the $10 amount. They also have good pretzels and cornbread to put you over the top. 😉

As of April 1 (atleast in DC) it appears doordash is now charging a minimum of $4.99 service fee on any grocery delivery less than $70. In the past the fee had been $1.99 for orders under $35 and $0 over $35. This is a significant devaluation of the chase dashpass benefit and $10 monthly credit a less meaningful discount

I no longer get the $5 doordash monthly credit in my account like I did in other months which I had attached my CSP card even though my Doordash account still has my account linked to Dashpass from my old CSR account.

Did DoorDash and Chase cancel the quarterly benefits? I have discovered that DoorDash is no longer showing Chase quarterly benefits. Only my Chase Sapphire Reserve two $10 monthly credits are shown. My Chase Freedom, Chase Freedom Flex, Chase Freedom Unlimited, Chase IHG, and Chase Hyatt $10 quarterly benefits for non-restaurant purchases are no longer shown. According to the DoorDash documentation, the program is current. I saw my quarterly credits last year in 2024 but not last quarter or this quarter in 2025. I was able to stack my Chase $10 discounts last year. Has stacking been canceled? Do I need to have eight separate purchases for each $10 benefit?

Michael Meyer I’ve got it showing on my Explorer card. Just placed an order for pickup.

I think that the credit is restricted to the card that the Dashpass is activated from.

I tested changing default payment to my Chase Freedom or Chase IHG but then no credit was displayed when I chose an item from a grocery store. I tried different grocery stores and same failure. Only my CSR discount is displayed not the quarterly discounts.

Michael Meyer So only the card that activated the Dashpass? AFAIK, you’d have to have multiple DD accounts to use multiple Chase credits.

In 2024, DoorDash stacked my credits. In 2025, no credits visible for non-Sapphire credit cars. I should see $60 or $70 credits available. At most, I see $10 from my CSR and then only during checkout.

My Feb CSP $10 credit worked fine, but the March credit won’t appear for non-restaurant. Been doing the same orders monthly.

Agreed, this simply no longer works. Tried live chat and replying to email support and it’s a mix of ignoring/evasive to flat out inaccurate…shame they’re gaslighting people about a benefit that no longer exists. CSP

Came here to say this, too. P2 used the first $10 credit in early March. But now the promo just doesn’t show up.

I did a Feb CSP non-restaurant (Dashmart) at the beginning of Feb and Mar yesterday (not Dashmart). So it definitely still exists.

I had really ignored the non-restaurant credits due to never ordering that stuff. Last month I decided to test out the schedule ahead option and see if it would work to collect many at once. On Feb 28, I did 2 orders at DashMart scheduled for pick up on Mar 2. Then on Mar 1, I did it again, scheduled to pick up at the same time on Mar 2. I was able to use both the February and March credits all in one trip. Planning to do the same in the coming months. I actually have 2 CSRs, 1 CSP, and 2 Freedom cards that I could do this all with, but since it requires a separate DoorDash account for every card to work, I don’t think it’s worthwhile to do it for all of them (especially the Freedoms). This might not work for all of the non-restaurant, pickup-able locations.

In practice, when I got to the warehouse, the people handling the orders hadn’t read the ticket where it said “Scheduled.” They prepared the orders almost as soon as they arrived and then had to un-prepare them since I didn’t show up. This meant that I had to wait a little bit longer on the day I went to pick them up, but the staff was super nice.

If the non restaurants promo isn’t showing up in its usual spot, you need to click continue all the way to checkout. Before you click place order, scroll down to where it says summary. There should be a toggle for the $10 off Chase monthly benefit. They changed it to allow you to combine it with other promos.

Is the $10 non restaurant credit any good?
I am not that familiar with Doordash so wondering can you get anything close to free or do they still kill you with fees, etc.?

If you use the pickup option from convenience stores it’s pretty decent – I’ll get snacks from 7/11 or sometimes can get a cheaper meal from wawa.
