(Repost)[Expired] Chase Extends Southwest Business 120,000 Offer Through September 4th; Get 2 Years Companion Pass With 1 Card Signup

It’s possible to get two full years of the Southwest Companion Pass with one card signup with the recent Chase Southwest Business Premier 120,000 points offer.

Previously we were seeing an end date on that signup offer of 8/28/23. However, referral links are now showing a 9/4/23 expiration.

Someone who signs up on September 4th should have at least through – and including – December 3rd to do the spend (“first 3 months”). And potentially longer, depending on when their application is approved.

One can change their card statement date to the 1st of each month. That way, any points earned in December won’t post to your Southwest account until January 1, 2024. Readers suggest that changing the Due Date to the 26th of the month should result in the statement closing on the first of each month. Note that you might not be able to change your due date more than once-per-180-days, so we have to get it right the first time.

The plan is to spend somewhere between $0 and $2,999 before the December 1st statement closes, ensuring not to hit the $3,000 threshold., (One reader cautions not to get super close to the threshold and risk Chase being ‘generous’ and giving you the bonus early.) Then, complete the $3,000 spend on December 2nd and 3rd. Then, spend more than $15,000 (total) by the 9-month mark. You have plenty of time to get to the $15,000 spend mark – the sooner you get there, the longer your Companion Pass will be.

60,000 points for signing up will post on January 1, 2024, along with the points from the regular spend. And the other 60,000 will post on the January statement or whichever future date you complete the second spend requirement. All told, it should be possible to get the Companion Pass with one card signup.

Readers suggest another option here: freeze your credit and apply for the card. The application will remain dormant in the Chase system for up to 30 days. You can unfreeze your credits (let’s say in 3 weeks), and then call in to have them run your credit and proceed with application. This will give you some more time for the spend.

Regardless, it’s worth remembering that Chase unofficially tends to give 115 days for spend, see this post and the updates there.

Question: The current offer on the SW business is again 120k points. If I followed these directions for the SUB is the CP good for one or two years? It says in the fine print CP is good for the year you earn it (so in my case it would be January 2024 or whenever I complete the $15K spend for the bonus) plus the following calendar year (2026).

So my statement closed Jan 3, 2024. I see the points on my statement (133K+) as “transferred” but I still don’t see them on Southwest.
I do see the 10k boost points already, but the mystery with the points is killing me. anyone else still waiting for their points.

I was in the same boat as you – waited all weekend for them to transfer. My points posted to SW around 9:45am EST today (1/8) with companion pass until 12/31/25. Immediately booked several flights for my companion.

Yep, I kid you not, I saw the account, called the 800 number to ask what is going on, must have been on hold for about 40 minutes while I was working, when someone finally answered I asked them to review. When I logged into the account myself with them, the points were there along with the companion pass.
Earned through 12/31/2025. All set here.

Waited and waited nothing had shown up. Called in and did the self-service balance check, all of the sudden the points showed up in the activity. Seems like it helps refresh the system. It was backdated to the billing close date.

I am in the same boat. My points didn’t hit until Jan 3, but it is saying CP through 12/31/24. I called SW and they told me that it was because it’s related to when you spend the money to earn the bonus, rather than when the points actually hit your account. I’m not sure if this agent is just uninformed, given that what she told me is counter to everything I’ve read on forums (and seems illogical that SW would be that involved in the credit card infrastructure), or if I should be concerned

Same issue – but also should have been shy a few thousand points for CP. I had 132k points post on Jan 1 but got the CP email a couple of days later – the other 3k points plus were earned back in October. Hopefully I didn’t mess up by hitting both tiers in December 😐

Just had my points post for both myself and P2. Points show as 12/31/23 for a Jan 1 statement close, but companion pass says earned for 2024 and available until 12/31/25. I was immediately able to assign a companion and add to flights.

My Points just posted as of 1/1/24. + 137K points. Below it there is a line item that says Companion qualifying points and shows 0. No companion pass. Anyone else in same boat? Doesn’t look good, not sure why this happened.

Mine is similar to you. I got 132k points posted today but no credit card 10k boost posted. So no companion pass yet. The companion pass track bar show 3k more points to reach the 135k requirement.

I already had a companion pass expiring 2/29/24 when I started this. Yesterday during the day I had 133k points transfer to my account and my companion pass track bar still showed I needed 2k more points. This morning it shows complete but the expiration date on my companion pass has not changed. I am hoping it will change soon because I would like to add my companion to trips I have booked past February. Is anyone else in this situation?

Anyone else NOT have the points post yet as they should have????

I called SWA and requested a callback from customer relations. I spoke to the Chase team and told them, that yesterday I had 135k PENDING, today I show ZERO pending and 75k earned (assume there’s a lag on the transfer to SWA due to end of year reset on SWA end). They assure me that I have earned by the appropriate date and will get the 2nd 60k and will call me back when they sort it out.

I will follow up here as soon as I hear back from either/both.

I’m assuming there’s a lag also, probably due to the holiday yesterday because I do show like yours $60k+ “year to date earned” but only ~$3k Available.

I chose to pay off my new statement balance today to see if that helps kick it through though that couldn’t be necessary.

update after SWA callback:

They say the pts SHOULD come in for members with status on 1/3 (maybe after midnight refresh) and regular RR members on 1/8. I asked why that isn’t disclosed on their website since I have 3 flights booked this week and will now need to pay cash for the CP tickets which I already have earned. I’m not sure the agent completely understood my issue, so I will follow up with them tomorrow before my flight if there’s still a problem.

Assuming I get the 135k which was pending yesterday in my Chase account, I might be ok. If only the 75k that they show TODAY as earned them I’ll have to wait for the 60k that today show as pending

DP: I completed all 15k spend for my statement closing 1/1. Chase has posted the statement which shows I earned over 135k points. As of the morning of 1/3, none of those points are reflected on my Southwest account. Also I have A-list status for whatever that’s worth.

FWIW, my statement closed 12/26 and my small November spend miles hit my SWA account 12/1. All of my points should have hit SWA on 1/1/24.

It seems very odd to me that this appears to be random

135k Points appeared in my SWA account today, 1/4 with a date of 1/1.

Oddly enough, I was literally on the phone with Chase following up when it happened. CP updated 20 minutes later through 12.31.25.

Same issue here. My 1/1 chase statement clearly shows 135k+ pts earned but as of 8pm on 1/3 nothing on the sw site yet….I do NOT have any status fwiw.

My Dec points show they were posted on 12/1.
