Our Verdict

They ran a similar offer last year, but without the $20,000 cap. Given the cap, it’s essentially as if there were a 30,000 points bonus on $20,000 spend – after spending $20,000 you’ll get 60,000 points, half from ordinary earn and half from signup bonus. Makes sense for someone who anyway wants to use the card as their daily driver. This has also been available in branch for some time.

Remember, most of us are not eligible for the card due to the 5/24 rule. Check out also these Things Everybody Should Know About Chase Credit Cards before applying.

The latest offer is earn $200 upon $500 spend in 3months which is very good & 1.5% CB on all purchase, no need to wait whole year to make bonus earn

DoC, I got an email for this offer. I’m WELL beyond 5/24, and the email has a variable APR. Any idea if there are DPs on this bypassing 5/24?

I don’t think I really like this offer…
First $20,000 earns 3% means you can earn 60,000 pts in total, which is 30,000 pts more than the normal 1.5%. It is the same amount of the previous targeted $300 offer, the only difference is you spend $500 vs $20,000.
You need to spend more than $10,000 to break even to the previous $150 offer as well.

Yeah, we analyzed it more in the previous posts, as noted.

FYI – chase is not matching the sign up bonuses if you have the $150 for $500 spend with 1.5%. Not sure if people would expect that. But denied both my wife and I, independently.

I have an old referral link that has the $150 offer, so a good idea to keep generating referral links for best options.

This offer was in my chase.com account when I logged in this evening.
It was in the Just For You section.

Went to the chase branch & checked for pre qualification this offer came up. I applied for it even though I am 11/24 let’s see what happens. Tried only because of the pre qualification.

HotelGuy would be curious to know if this bypasses 5/24. I dont think it has recently though.

If it had a fixed rate listed it’s usually approved and bypasses 5/24. If range is listed then no.

For anyone who wanted the old $150 for $500 offer it’s still active with Chase and old referral links still offer it if you’re looking to refer a P2 or something and saved your old link. If that’s you want I’d apply now in case Chase kills those links.

Maybe I’m missing something… The only reason I can think of that you’d want the old offer is if you won’t spend $5000 in the first year (the inflection point here). Is there another?

Just to clarify: i’m asking hoping I’m missing something as both my wife and I applied on Monday, and chase has refused to match new offer. Cheers

Not the OP, but the inflection point is $10,000 (1.5% additional cash back vs $150 sign-up bonus. 150/.015 = 10,000). I won’t spend that money on any one card among all my credit cards, so it’s best to take the sign-up bonus instead.

Yeah, totally need to better on my math in public! Thanks.
At $10,000 it makes a lot more sense to me.

Actually, it matches at only $10000, since you have $150 bonus from the other offer.
