The Fine Print

  • This promotion is valid only for World of Hyatt members who register for the promotion at https://world.hyatt.com/content/gp/en/offers/hyatt-credit-card-promotion.html between 10/27/2020 and 11/30/2020.
  • You will qualify for and receive your category 1-4 Free Night if you make Purchases with your credit card that total an amount at or above the specified target amount during the promotional period. Purchases posted to your account with a transaction date during the offer period are eligible for this offer. Delays by the merchant, such as shipping, could extend the transaction date beyond the offer period.
  • Please allow 4 weeks from the end of the promotion period for the Free Night Award to be issued to your World of Hyatt account at worldofhyatt.com.
  • Free Night Award not valid at properties in any other category or at Miraval, Hyatt Zilara or Hyatt Ziva resorts. To find category 1-4 hotels or resorts, visit worldofhyatt.com.
  • An authorized user will not receive this Free Night Award.
  • Hyatt reserves the right to reclassify any hotel or resort at any time for any reason in its sole discretion (provided that reclassification of a hotel or resort will not affect a previously booked award reservation).
  • Free Night Awards must be redeemed for a reservation with a checkout date before the expiration date of the award. Free Night Awards cannot be redeemed for packages. Resort, destination or facility fees, where charged by the applicable hotel or resort, will be waived for cardmembers for the specific redeemed Free Night Award (excluding Hyatt Residence Club resorts). In some instances, a hotel or resort may charge other fees (such as a “service fee” for room service) that are independent of any resort, destination or facility fee charged by that hotel or resort. These fees will not be waived when redeeming a Free Night Award. Reservations for Free Night Award redemption are subject to availability and must be made in advance by visiting the My Awards page within your account at worldofhyatt.com, or by calling 888.75.HYATT or your nearest Hyatt Global Contact Center. Except as otherwise expressly set forth here, redemption of a Free Night Award is subject to all terms as set forth in the World of Hyatt terms and conditions, available at worldofhyatt.com/terms. Chase is not responsible for offer fulfillment or the provision of or failure to provide the stated benefits and services.

Our Verdict

They sent out an email with this offer, and you can check yourself at the landing page. Only those with the old version Hyatt card are showing as eligible for this offer whereas those with the new World of Hyatt version are not currently showing as eligible.

Could be a good deal on its own, and especially nice when paired with the spend offers which people are seeing for Amazon and grocery stores – the spend for the bonus will count toward the free night as well. Reports I’m seeing are that the free night certificate will expire after 365 days; I can’t source where that info is coming from.

DP:
12/9 – completed spending and statement closed
12/14 – received an email from Hyatt with the title “Congratulations – You Just Earned a Free Night”. I logged in my Hyatt account and saw the award night posted there with an expiration date of 12/14/2021, exactly one year from today.
My other free nights from the Hyatt card have expiration date of 12/31/2021.

Once completed how long do the free night award last? Is it the same 12 month expiration just like the free annual perk?

It seems like to be one year from the day the free night was posted. Pls see my post above.

This is an amazing deal! Especially considering the 5x on Amazon and 3x on groceries which I’m guessing will stack.

Anyone know if you spend $4k, and then return the items, if that will trigger the award? Also a bit surprised the night certificate will be valid for a year, because Hyatt extended all free nights to 12/31/2021.

Chase shut all my accounts 10 months ago yet I still got this email and was able to enroll my canceled card to further wallow in self-pity.

Better off canceling and signing up for the new one (if you can). Bonus is much better. 15,000 points for category 1-4 with more spend than 3K for 30,000 points.

For those ineligible for the new card or those who prefer the lower AF of the old card, this is a smoking deal.

If I had the old card and was eligible for a bonus on the new card, id hit this 4k spend, get free night and then cancel and get WoH card for sign up bonus.

Hyatt seems to have no clue about the promo terms even though they sent the email and the T&C state that Chase isn’t responsible for the fulfillment.

Chase told me via SM: “once spend is met the night deposited to your member account will be eligible for use for one full year from the date of deposit. Nights cannot be extended or reissued once they have expired. “

I can spend the $4K on an AU card right? With Chase AU cards have the same number so I assume that it doesn’t matter which card the spend is done with. Just wanted to check
