Our Verdict
Best bonus was 175,000 points. Think this is a much better bonus as you’re getting five free night certificates up to 60,000 points per certificate (really up to a maximum of 300,000 points). Some things to know about the certificates:
- They expire 1 year after being issued
- In the past you have not being able to top up certificates from the sign up bonus with additional points (e.g if a property costs 70,000 points per night it wasn’t possible to add 10,000 points to one of these certificates)
There are some datapoints that this is bypassing 5/24, but it’s unclear if this is due to miscounting (share your datapoints in the comments below). It’s possible we will see the same offer with an additional $100 statement credit when doing a dummy booking but don’t think it’s necessarily worth waiting for based on the history of those offers appearing for IHG. We will add this to our list of the best credit card bonuses.

Can’t find any weekends available to use these certificates. I am considering closing all my IHG cards.
direct link no longer works for more
can this 60k FNC cover hotels that offer points +cash nights, e.g. like a night would cost: 55k pts + $40.
I opened this card one and six month ago and then closed it after one year. Is there any data point showing I can open it again and get the rewards. Thanks.
Offer rule:
This product is available to you if you do not have a current IHG One Rewards Credit Card and have not received a new Cardmember bonus within the last 24 months
can you book 5 nights average below 60k? say, hotel in London cost 55k weekday and 65k weekend. Thanks.
The up to 60,000 is just not happening. It’s mostly lower levels at up to 40,000. It’s extremely hard to find 2-3 nights in higher level hotel even when it’s available via points.
Can’t get it if you still have the $49 AF card.
Which I prefer to keep..
me too. apply for Business card instead — i just did
I have that card. Love $49 for a free night
Also, five or so years ago, I got the Premier card and had the old card too. Sounds like they changed their rules?
A free night of up to 40k points with no way to top up. More often than not I find myself looking at either Holiday Inn Express at 25k points or another “decent” hotel at around 50k.
Of course I cancelled the card.
Is this easy to get? I just got rejected by Wells Fargo Autograph Journey card yesterday. Should I wait before applying for this one?
I got this card about 1 1/2 months ago and just received my 5 free nights. I was way over 5/24. I just booked 5 nights at the intercontinental Singapore using the free nights.
Well crap. I applied before the last one expired, right at 5/24 with the hopes it would be okay and got denied. I called reconsideration and they explicitly stated the 5/24 rule.
how much points are the hotel at intercontinental Singapore worth? is it close to 60k?
Looks like it’s back alive! Just got approved after seeing the biz was revived.
