The INK Plus card from Chase is available online with a 60,000 point signup bonus; the annual fee is not waived the first year. For a while now, the in-branch offer has been 70,000 points with the annual fee waived for the first year. Requires $5,000 in spend.
That offer was set to expire on August 20, but it’s now been extended according to this Reddit report. You can still get this superior offer (70k + fee waived) in a Chase branch. We don’t know an end-date; let us know if you see that information at Chase.
Most likely, you’ll be able to get the INK Cash card with a $300 bonus in a Chase branch as well (the public offer is $200), as these usually go together.
Pretty cool if you go into a Chase branch and get a pre-approval on the INK card and the Sapphire Reserve card; walk out 170,000 points richer. We can dream. 🙂  (Pre-approvals sometimes help circumvent the 5/24 rule.)
Note that personal and business Chase credit cards don’t always result in combined pulls. Here are 23 things to know about Chase credit card.
There’s also a $500 business checking bonus currently available, and some people had success getting pre-approved on INK while there to open a business checking.
Get a Match
More important, perhaps, than the in-branch offer is that historically it’s been possible to get Chase to match the in-branch offer by sending them a secure message. You might need a screenshot of the 70k offer, however, which we don’t yet have.
Note that getting the match will typically only net the extra 10,000 points, but won’t get the $95 annual fee waived the first year.
I went into a branch. I had my tax ID, my social security number, my 2 Chase personal accounts, and asked to apply for the business card. The employee told me I can not apply for a business card with only a federal tax ID, and that I have to have my “sole proprietorship” registered with the state. All I am doing is selling trinkets on ebay. Is it true there is no way to apply for a business card, if the business has only a tax ID and is not incorporated or registered as a DBA? It seems to me that other people have gotten the card with only the tax ID papers.
You can apply with an SSN or EIN, and most bankers will allow that, but some might not.
I went to the branch earlier this week and they extended the 70k bonus with first year waived until sometime in November. Applied and approved right away 🙂
I’m in NYC
Thanks for the info! Dont’ suppose you have any idea on the exact expiry?
Did you just walk in and ask for it? Do you need to have any documentation with you other than ID? I’m very new to this but I do have a small business (contract employee) and would love this card. Also, just got the reserve about 3 weeks ago. Thanks for any input!
Any data points on if this offer is still available in branch? Thank you.
Not sure. You can try calling in and asking.
I went in to open the biz checking, apply for the CSReserve card, then apply for the Plus and Cash biz cards. Step 1 couldn’t proceed ’cause by DBA certificate was more than 10 yrs old and had expired, so I proceeded to step 2 which was successful on the spot since the banker found that I was pre-approved but despite having opened 9/24. When I inquired about being pre-approved for any biz cards, the banker wouldn’t even check because he said I didn’t yet have a business relationship with Chase, but I should open the biz checking first then check. So I returned the next day (last day for the checking bonus) with a new DBA certificate, opened the Performance checking account. Then, without my even asking, the banker said pre-approvals popped up for two biz cards – Plus and Cash. “I’ll take both, please” But this time, I didn’t get instant approval. Banker said I’d be notified by mail in 7-10 days. So, I’m familiar with reconsideration, at least on the personal side, and usually successful until 5/24 started. Would you recommend calling reconsideration in this case. I have 2 other Chase personal cards plus the new CSReserve card with a $35K limit, so I’m thinking a CL redistribution might be needed. Thoughts …
I’d recommend asking the banker to call reconsideration for you since they said you were pre-approved. Just say something like that you are disappointed because you wanted to move your business banking relationship to Chase, they said you were pre-approved for two cards and then approved for neither.
William,
did just as you recommended, but by phone and mentioned that I had just three days earlier been approved for the CSR with a $35K CL and would be happy to redistribute. Bank was quite agreeable, first trying to determining status on-line, but fairly quickly saying he was getting some error, so he thought it better for him to call and he would call me back. About 45 minutes later, he returned my call to pass along that one of the two biz apps had been declined and the other, after answering a few questions on my behalf, moved from submitted (or some similar step) to processing. He wasn’t told which (Plus or Cash) was declined nor the reason. He did give me a number (888 609-7805) and welcomed me to call to find the status of the other card and even ask for reconsideration of the already declined card. I remained encouraged, but within an hour I found in my snail mail a declination letter for the “Chase Visa Signature” app saying “Too many credit cards opened in the last 2 years”. This sounds a lot like 5/24. I am at least 9/24, and have the United MileagePlus Explorer Business Credit Card from Chase as well as two personal Chase cards currently open and six closed over the past 12 years.
Would you have any further recommendation on how to handle my reconsideration call? Your advice has been right on so far. Help me again, please.
Called recon today with the intention of getting the Plus approved even if it had been the one of the two Biz cards that had been declined already. D was very helpful and seemed to acknowledge that one cannot be approved for two biz cards on the same day (after I mentioned that I didn’t know that when I had submitted my two applications several days earlier, so I was “leading the witness”), but he also took pains to explain the real reason I was declined on one of the two cards was “too many cards opened in the last 24 months”. This suggests some 5/24 type consideration still occurs even for in-branch applications to in-branch pre-approvals. I didn’t challenge and even allowed that I understood. He mentioned that it was the Cash card that had been declined, and this made me happy ’cause it meant the much higher bonus card (Plus) was still possible. Then went on to ask if it was still possible to have the Plus approved. D said “oh it had already been approved and it had just been approved earlier today”. I told D this made me very happy, and explained that having the Plus approved was the goal of my call. Was there anything else I wanted to ask? Took the opportunity to try to learn how soon I might be reconsidered for again being pre-approved for the Cash card, but D explained it wasn’t clear to him how pre-approved prospects are identified.
Any insight into multiple cards? I have two Inks already (two separate businesses) and am starting a third business. Is there any chance I could get another Ink card for that?
No idea, it’s a post I want to research and write but haven’t found the time. If anybody has any datapoints, please share them
My DP is I have the two cards for two separate businesses. Got them about a year apart. Second one went to pending, but I waited it out and it was eventually approved.
Thanks
Bonuses on both?
Are bussinesses sole props?
I’m having problem finding the answer since there are so many hits on this card. I have the this card that I applied for when it became a VISA to get the bonus (WAS holding the MC variant). Anyway, I used my Social as the EIN. I have since legitimized my business by registering with the state and adding a title after my name as my DBA. Can I get this bonus? The VISA INK that I applied for with my Social is still open.
If you have a business with an INK card under your SSN, you can get a second INK for a second business under your EIN. I don’t know if you can get two for the same business.
When you go to the Branch, Applying for both Chase Ink Plus (70k bonus) and Ink Cash Card ($300 Bonus) Or Ink Plus (70k Bonus) and Sapphire Reserve (100k Bonus) will result in only ONE CREDIT PULL or 2 credit pulls?
Also Can one apply for 2 of these cards or 3 or 4 cards in Branch at same time (if it will be only one credit inquiry/pull)?
Can you explain the specifics in detail?
You will get separate pulls for personal and separate pulls for business cards. Combine within each category only.
As Dan says, personal and biz usually don’t combine. YMMV.
