[Expired] Chase INK Preferred 100,000 Points Signup Offer During Small Business Week [April 29 – May 5]

This deal is no longer available, click here for more Chase deals.

Update 4/30/18: Chase tells us that the offer is still only for BRM applicants.

The Offer

We wrote previously about the rumor of an increased INK signup bonus during National Small Business Week, and we’ve now gotten hold of a memo being sent out to Chase bankers confirming the rumor.

  • Get 100,000 Ultimate Rewards points when signing up for the Chase INK Business Preferred card and spending $5,000 within 3 months.
  • Historically, the first year’s annual fee has been waived for in-branch applications, can’t say for certain if that this will be the case here.

There are a few other offers shown below for things like payroll processing and merchant services.

Card Details

  • Card earns at the following rates:
    • 3x points per $1 spent on the first $150,000 in combined purchases on travel, shipping purchases, internet, cable and phone services, advertising purchases made with social media sites and search engines each account anniversary year
    • 1x points per $1 spent on all other purchases
  • Points are worth an additional 25% more when you redeem them for airfare, hotels, car rentals and cruises through Chase Ultimate Rewards (making points worth 1.25¢ per point)
  • Ability to transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards to Chase’s travel partners at 1:1 rate
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • Cell phone protection

Our Verdict

Hopefully we’ll even see an increased online offer (see prior post), but quite possible it’ll only be available in-branch.

I believe this offer will be valid for anyone applying in a Chase branch with any regular banker during Small Business Week. It’s possible there will be other limitations we aren’t aware of – please contribute data points in the comments if you try this out next week. It’s also possible that this is already live, but I’d guess it’s not live until Sunday, April 29.

The INK Cash card will be available in-branch with a $500/50k signup bonus offer, as shown in the above memo, but that offer is publicly available online now as well.

These offers will still be subject to the 5/24 rule, as well as the ongoing added scrutiny Chase applies to new card applicants, which will knock off a lot of us from being able to take advantage of this.

Thanks to D. for sharing the information!

This offer is still alive in-branch. I went in to open a chase bz checking account and was preapproved for the card. Standard bonus is 80K but the banker offered to get me the 100K. Manager had to do some over-ride mechanism on the computer but went through without a hitch.

Opened a business checking and did a paper app for the CIP last week. Finally heard back today and I was approved for the CIP. I was over 5/24.

Opened a business checking and had a BRM do a paper app for the CIP on May 2nd. Still haven’t heard anything and no hard inquiry yet. Is it taking this long for anyone else? I’m wondering if I should contact them at some point.

I did the same two steps a week ago and had not heard, so called the application status phone number for business accounts and learned the CIP was approved today.

Chase business cards: 800-453-9719

My business is very small: dog boarding, consulting and mystery shopping. I was 7/24, about to go to 5/24 in July, with FICO > 800. Now I just have to set up some mortgage payments through Plastiq or somebody else to meet the 5k spend.

Many many thanks to DoC: $300 for the business checking and 100k points for this card. It was a good day!

I ended up emailing the person I worked with at Chase for the CIP – they asked for additional (EIN) details, so it seems like they failed to submit it or something.. I received a hard inquiry this morning, but there is no card in my online account yet – is there a good way to check on the application status?

Went onto a Socal branch (LA) opened a business checking account (sole preprioter) for the $300 bonus and filled in the CIP app for the BRM to fax in for approval on Monday. It will still be for the 100k promo. Private Client Banker was the one who opened the checking account and called the BRM to set up the CIP app completion to be processed on Monday. I have a personal checking account at Chase, but I’m not a Private Banking client. I’m at 6/24, but two are AU cards. I’ll update results.

Logged in to my new business checking account today and a CIP account was there. $300 + 100K UR points. Not a bad week.

I got the offer on my Chase login for this card. I applied even though I’m at “Har de har har / 24” Got the “we need more time” message. Checked pending applications on both the personal and business logins and it said nothing pending, so I’m guessing I was denied but haven’t received a letter yet.

I only want the card to assuage my OCD – I have the Plus and Cash cards, so I need this to complete the set. 😀

A banker at a branch I go to, (Not a BRM) emailed me an application for 100k. It appears it was forwarded to him by a BRM. The app is called a “Ink Business Preferred Visa with Joint & Several Liability Effective 03/11/2018”. He told me to complete it and bring it to the branch. I have an Ink Bold (not sure what it’s called now) and 2 Ink Cash cards which are downgrades. I am under 5/24. I would like to get the FU 3x. Is it still available and when can I apply?

My banker was able to get me this card and I am WAY over 5/24. I had the Ink Preferred previously and recently downgraded it, but I got approved anyway. Amazed that I actually got approved, and not really sure why I was.

Most likely paper app through BRM or maybe in branch pre-approval.

Sounds like the first one, because my banker didn’t have a decision for me the same day. In fact, he didn’t let me know I was approved until I asked him what the UPS package was that I got an email about yesterday. 🙂

I stopped by and the branch person sent a mail to the brm who will respond next week. Wtf?

I told her you need to make my application enabled for this promotion. I came in on time.

I called a branch in NJ today and talked to the BRM. He said 1) the 100k offer has been a while, not just for this week. If I come in next week or later, the offer might still be there; 2) only BRM is able to see the 100k offer, not small biz specialist or personal banker.

Will come to branch tomorrow. I live in PA.

Not sure if this works in all cases, but I chose my branch by searching for one that serves “Chase Private Clients.” The branch I went to did have a BRM.

Similar to an above post made by Sam April 27. The BRM said that I had to have a business checking for them to “Find me in the system.”

Also said that I had to be listed as “Active” with the Secretary of State to sign up for a checking account. That’s certainly not a requirement of my state as I have a business checking at another bank. I wonder if this statement was because he typically with larger businesses? (I.e. Maybe it’s a requirement he has to impose when opening an account for someone.) I find it hard to believe that chase would require this

I’m tempted to go to a Chase branch and try opening a business account with a regular employee and then asking for BRM if that works. Not certain I have time tomorrow however.

Note: They don’t offer promotions in branch for opening checking. You need to bring a promo code with you.
