Many readers commented on a recent post about Chase not allowing them the ability to go through a reconsideration process on a denied credit card application.
We know that they’ve been tightening business credit card approvals, but I found it surprising that they wouldn’t even allow a reconsideration process for some card applications.
There are probably certain denial reasons that the reps are trained to not even allow a reconsideration process given that they know it won’t be overturned. Honestly, I’m not sure that this change bothers me – if they internally made the absolute decision that certain denial reasons won’t be overturned, I’m happy to save my time and effort as well on the call.
Got denied after calling in for Ink Cash. 4/24.
😳
updated: Ok, so after 24hr, I called again to ask for more clarities. They said I have too many credits and I told them to move those credits to the new application. I finally got approved.
Dang! That sucks! I have always had to call the reconsideration line because I’m located in Arkansas. They didn’t have a branch in the state until 2 years ago, but all Arkansas addresses get automatically denied or require additional documents to be submitted.
Prime Visa denied me- immediately called recon line, asked a few questions about open cards and small balances, I responded why and was approved $10k. I have CSP, and Ink.
What a joke the credit industry with credit cards nowadays don’t care about their customers bottom line there needs to be a company that is geared for our current market conditions whoever figures that out will win the credit card wars;
hope you got in the INK cards while the getting was good!
I did, but got the cold shoulder after applying for the INK cash. Honestly it seems like my call to the recon line went out to call center or such. The rep not only denied any consideration, but did not seem well versed or had the ability to see my whole chase portfolio.
I literally applied on 11/16/24 but then again, ive had 2 years of business banking history with them. That could be why i got approved.
Last ink (P2 first ink using ssn only), HUCA’d 4 times, approved 3k
what’s huca?
Hung up called again
Desperate?
Well done!
Any reports on getting personal applications denied as well? Was on ink train for last 3-4 years. Having hard time getting approved for prime Visa card. Denial Reason: somebody may be trying to use my identity.
Upon calling fraud specialist, they always mention you’ll either receive card or letter in mail. Well so far it’s been only denial mails.
Same issue with prime visa card. Told me I needed to send in Photo ID and proof of address. Still denied me after sending that in and told me to go into a physical branch.
Citibank made it almost impossible for a reconsideration with a Wawa card application.
She has a 800 credit score and they denied her for insufficient credit, what a joke.
Tried calling the # listed and the recording wont even speak to you without a credit report in your hands, and still no option even after you get one.
You’re on the wrong page, buddy. This article is about Chase.
Also, who is the “she” in your story? kek
If I wasted one minute of my life fighting Citibank to get a Wawa card, and mentioned it publicly, I think I’d be more embarrased than if I had one of their Cheesesteak Buttplugs fall out of my suitcase at a TSA checkpoint.
yet you aren’t embarrassed to showcase your public school education with your run on sentence? So weird!
You got a link for those cheesesteak things?
There has to be a better card to use at Wawa than their credit card
Can we pressure Chase to reconsider this?
Call Jamie and if he says “No” just HUCA until he changes his mind.
Call the CEO reconsideration line
When you have those rando 20 year old YouTubers say call 10 times eventually Chase gets annoyed enough
