Our Verdict
Nice discount, seems highly targeted.
I just went to pull the trigger on this and it is no longer in my account. Did they pull it a day early? Kicking myself for waiting until the last minute
For those of your who have redeemed this deal, does it credit as a direct statement credit ($), or ultimate rewards points?
There is a known issue that orders over $400 can be split shipped resulting in separate charges below the $400 threshold. In that case you need to call into Chase customer service to trigger the deal.
How long does it take? They just gave me a ticket number!
I am still waiting :/
First they told me 14 business days. Now they say they need to open a ticket which could take another 10 business days.
Same. They told me 5 business days and then 7.
Do I have to shop using the Chase.com and clicking on backcountry – it sends me to this link
https://www.backcountry.com/?utm_source=Chase&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=2024_Q4
Or can I simply call backcountry on the phone and order? Reason being they are offering me an item’s sale price yesterday which isn’t on sale anymore but said they can only it over the phone. Thanks
Not quite a phone order but I had to order through their chat for a similar reason and I did not click through the Chase link but everything worked out.
It’s hard to imagine ordering through the phone would be billed through a separate channel.
I used this deal and stacked with Rakuten 15%. Backcountry charge has posted on my CSR, but now the Chase Offer is completely gone. Not in my “Added to Card,” not in my “history,” not in my “redeemed,” nowhere. Like it never existed.
Anyone else have this issue? Worried this was a mistake and Chase is trying to be sneaky and pull it.
This has happened a couple of times before and I would just be patient. Chase still paid out.
I, too, noticed this today. Glad I found your post. My payment of $476.XX on backcountry is posted but for some reason there’s a $477.XX refund from backcountry “pending.” I’m just going to wait a few days for that to fall off, my item is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow.
I also had a refund and subsequent re-charge for a few cents less than originally indicated from Backountry in my transactions; however, I just received an e-mail from Chase about successfully having redeemed the Backcountry offer and that a $200 cashback was being applied.
I too had clicked through via Rakuten for 15X.
How long after the charge was posted did you get the $200 credit email for Chase?
My order was placed on 12/2 and card charged on 12/7 and I still haven;t received a notification from chase about using the offer
Happening to me as well. Also happened with some other previous offers where they were credited fine later. I will be patient for a week or so.
Anyone having trouble paying with their chase sapphire reserve?
Yes, tried last night and today and the same payment problem error, while the card is fine, and I used it with several other merchants today. You can call (chat may work too), but you will lose %15 back from Rakuten this way.
Despite the vague terms regarding paying directly, Paying through PayPal triggers Chase offers for most offers (not all), and I don’t not want to risk on this big offer.
Try using a new account. I had that problem earlier today despite clearing cookies, etc. Finally made a new account and was able to push the transaction. It’s now being shipped.
Thanks Kevin, worked.
Stack this with 15% on Rakuten and the Backcountry’s current Cyber Monday sales and this is an incredible deal. I just bought 7 wool base layers (regular price $703) and after both rebates, the final price should come to $191.
$50 of $150 on Sapphire Preferred. Picked up some Iron Rangers.
After looking at Backcountry on CapitalOne Shopping, I got an email with an offer of 15% back at Backcountry. So could potentially get $400 worth of merchandise for $140ish?
Yep, portals should stack with Chase offers.
On slickdeals it’s been suggested that CSR gets $200 off $400 and CSP gets $50 off $150 and no other cards are eligible. I half expect an email to go out about this and maybe the allbirds promo in the next few days as a “holiday benefit.”
+1 what I’ve seen for my own cards
