The Offer
Check your Chase Offers and other banks for the following deal:
- Earn $10 cash back on your TurboTax purchase, when you spend $39 or more. Make a single purchase of $39 or more online at this TurboTax site.
A number of banks use the same back end for these offers. This includes: Chase, Bank of America, Regions Bank, Suntrust Bank, BBVA, BB&T, PNC, Columbia Bank, Beneficial Bank, and Christian Community CU. You can read this post for more information.
The Fine Print
- Payment must be made directly with merchant.
- Cash back may not be processed for over 30 days or until a complete future billing cycle.
Our Verdict
A nice discount for TurboTax users. There are some free filing options out there as well; this offer is useful for someone who needs a paid version. Also get 1,000 Southwest points with any version.
Post History:
- Update 12/22/22: Available again through 4/18/23. No minimum spend this time. (There’s also $10 off $50 Amex Offer showing now as well.)
fyi, this usually works for paying the state e-filing fee. at least it worked last year
Oh thanks for the info!
Yeah, I used a Chase offer for the state e-filing fee last year. But note the $35 minimum on some of these offers is probably more than your e-filing fee will be. But my Chase cards have a version of it with no minimum.
e-filing an extra state for us was $40 ymmv
With the download version or online? For the download, you have to pay for the second state software, then separately for the e-file.
Citi’s offer also has no minimum purchase.
Does ot work to cover taxes owed?
😀
If the tax payment is coded the same as other TurboTax charges, it should work. They charge 2.49% (instead of 1.85% from PayUSAtax), so if your tax owed is >=$1563.50, the fee is more than the credit. I don’t think you can split pay through TT to use the offer from multiple cards.
is it possible to file federal(I have two smllc) with one card and then file state with another card?
Bought another state for $45 with Chase card, got $10 back, so valid for 2024 still
I bought a copy with the Fidelity offer ($5.42 with tax) and got a text saying that I had redeemed the BofA offer. Sadly, I subsequently got email and text saying that I did not qualify for the offer before I had not met the purchase requirement.
Has anyone tested the Citi offer to confirm that it works on any purchase like Chase’s does?
I bought 2 yesterday (2 different Citi cards), so I don’t know yet.
Please post if it does. I’ve found Citi Merchant Offers to be unreliable of late. Never got the last two, Uber One and Sunoco. With Chase, I actually got emails and app alerts when making the purchase. I realized recently that I did not have the correct options set to get notification. I had the offer on six Chase cards. Just 3 at Citi.
Both purchases are now “redeemed”, 1 day after the transactions were posted.
Earn $10 back on any purchase.

Citi Double Cash
BofA offer is $5 cash back for purchase of $39 or more, similar to last year
Chase offer is $10 cash back for any purchase, BUT it’s got this restrictive language:
“*Must make purchase from turbotax.com/affiliate/chaseoffer22.”
The prices at that link are approx $10 higher than using fidelity or other referral links, so I will not be using Chase
So, I first thought the link was required for the chase offer too, but I don’t think the asterisk relates to the offer, instead right after the earn $10 back it talks about getting up to $15 extra instant savings * and then has the asterisk. So the disclaimer may be for the extra savings. As for buying TurboTax, you’re usually better off buying via Amazon at the end of December (eg next week, hopefully the deal comes up)
Yes, I’m sure that you don’t need to go through the link to get the $10 offer.
FYI, I bought one download for $5.42 through the fidelity link and got the $10 back. Sadly, the $5 offer isn’t working at the moment, but when it comes back, I will be sure to buy more copies on the Chase and Citi cards that have this offer!
It’s been a while since I used a Chase offer. How soon after purchase should I get an email saying that I redeemed it Should it be instant? I did not get it for my $5.42 purchase. The authorization just says Intuit.
Update — took a couple of days after the purchase posted, but I got the credit.
I need premier so I will just that as an example.
Intuit website: $69 + $39 state = $108. Assume you get $10 off each the total is still $88
Costco/Amazon/Sam’s club have it for $83. There is no free efiling for state but I usually just print it out and mail it in.
Am I missing something?
Better option is to buy Deluxe and upgrade from within the program, and paying with the Chase offer. And the prices you mentioned are not the sale prices that will be starting next week.
Looking to triple stack with Robinhood, chase and Rakuten 🤞
Chase and intuit set up a special website so double dipping is probably dead. And potentially any special pricing intuit sets up with other companies or their own pricing promos.
Nope. Still works.
