Update 7/26/24: Seems July is the final month for the credits and for the free year/months or Instacart+. Be sure to add all of your Sapphire and Freedom cards to stack up as many months of Instacart+ as you can for free. I forgot about my new Freedom card which I recently got; I’ll add that to my Instacart to stack an additional 3 months of free Instacart+ membership after my year of free Sapphire Reserve membership ends down the road. (thanks to Dansdeals for the reminder)
Update 2/23/23: Readers let me know that you can add your Freedom cards to extend the Instacart+ free membership. I added my Sapphire Reserve for a free year, and now was able to add my two Freedom cards to get an extra 3 months of free membership from each. You need to add the cards at this link. (Adding your Freedom cards will also allow you to take advantage of the Freedom $10 quarterly statement credit as well.)
Update 8/1/22: There’s now a monthly or quarterly statement credit for Chase cardholders as well. Full details in this post.
The Offer
- Chase credit cardholders can receive free Instacart+ membership for 3, 6, or 12 months.
- Sapphire Reserve gets 12 months
- Sapphire Preferred gets 6 months
- Freedom and Slate cards get 3 months
Instacart+ gives the following benefits:
- $0 delivery fees on orders of $35 or more (typically starting at $3.99 for non-Instacart+)
- Reduced service fees
The Fine Print
- Instacart charges your card once your account converts to a paid plan at the end of your free membership. You’ll receive a welcome email after signing up which will tell you your next membership renewal date. Then you’ll receive an email notice 30 days before renewal.
- This offer begins June 15, 2022, and must be redeemed by July 31, 2024.
Our Verdict
They ran a similar promo last year on most Chase cards to get a free year of Instacart, and some people even got it free through June. Just be sure to cancel before getting charged if you don’t want the paid subscription; you can cancel right away by going to Manage plan > Turn off auto-renew. Separately, keep in mind that Instacart prices are often higher than in store.

Cancelling early still works fine with the free months
Looks like Chase is replacing the Instacart credits with DoorDash credits. In the DoorDash app (connected to my CSR) I see a promo for two $10 monthly credits for non-restaurant orders.
I'm getting the following 'There was a problem loading this page‘ :(
Discrepancy - added two chase freedom and on the signup link it showed full 6 months of extension. but inside account only 3 months. chatted with customer service and it was unresolved with no ticket opened for followup. frustrating
Please can anybody help me PLEASE? I changed from regular sapphire to sapphire reserve last abril, since that date when i try to add the card to instacar to active the offer i got the message, THIS CARD IS ALREADY BEEN USED TO REDEEM THIS OFFER, and the truth is i have never been got this card before, my last sapphire card was the regular sapphire and i dont khow how to fix this, HELP ME PLEASE
Don't they keep the same card number when staying in the Sapphire family? If so, that could be the conflict.
Hi, what is this 10dollar statement credit? I signed up with chase freedom, only email says “$10/quarter statement credits on eligible purchases (excludes restaurant orders, powered by Uber Eats, on Instacart), through July 2024”. That means I actually have to place an order through Instacart, say I spent 50, and Instacart will charge chase 40? Any one got the credit, please advice
I was thinking I get the 10 no purchase necessary
Yy again. Placed 2 orders through Instacart for pickup, first one on 7/30 , most of the items were canceled, so only got charged .12, then 7/31. First order chase refunded me .12, then just now, I find chase refunded me9.88. Looks like this is not for me, Instacart, since pickup price is 10-15% higher in price, and maybe for someone who cannot get to store physically. But I post the refund info, hope it helps.
You order through Instacart and they will charge you the full amount to your card. However, once it posts Chase will immediately issue a statement credit for $10.
Thank you!
I may have added too many cards. It's not allowing me to access the chase partner page for adding more. Anyone faced this issue?
I’m on my iPhone- the first time I clicked the link it brought me to the app and errored out, but once I went back and clicked the link again it took me back to the app and it worked.
Did this last week then used Instacart+ for free Peacock subscription to watch the olympics.
Successfully stacked both CSP and Freedom. Just went through the "offer" page twice with each card and it extended the "Payment will start" date by the respective number of months
Most of us here are in these stores all the time buying deals and gift cards. I'm healthy enough to go in person thank God. Did use insta cart during the pandemic and gave generous tips with free del. And no fees.
Plus tired of bad dates for dairy and lots of produce going bad. So not a good deal. (As long as I stay healthy)
