In The Offer section above, it says:
But as I noticed and as other are seeing in recent posts below, it’s not just the 10% back that can change and not just that the limit can come down, the limit can go up.
Right now the most common version seems to be 10% back with a $9 limit.
So should the The Offer section be clarified to say that either number can go down or up, depending on the current offer?
The other point is:
As happens with many other banks, I and many people don’t get offers on cards we already have been using for that merchant.
I have both the legacy Freedom card and the Freedom Flex card.
I’ve only been using the legacy Freedom card, not the Freedom Flex card, for rotating categories in the last couple years, and this quarter’s category is groceries, so I’ve been using it at Ralphs, my local Kroger store.
Well, of course, I got this offer on my Freedom Flex (which I haven’t used at Ralph’s for ages, if ever), but not on my legacy Freedom card.
But while this “only give offers on cards where the card owner has not used it for that merchant” is a very common credit card bank practice, I’ve never seen it mentioned on DoC before.
Why does it keep marking my posts as “spam” when all I’ve done is several edits to clarify things???
Will the chase offer work for gift card & stack w freedom at Safeway?
My offer is 10% grocery. If I buy $500 gc how does the 10% post, cash or points? Thanks!
it should post as a statement credit. But isn’t there a max of $9 so makes no sense to purchase more than a $90 gift card.
Understood, but since grocery is a chase bonus category buying a $500 gift card This pays the $8 fee correct?
You are correct. I had forgotten about the grocery bonus this quarter.
Thank you for the confirmation, these discussion groups are the best.
I received the 10%/$9 offer on a mix of personal and business cards. This included Freedom Flex and Freedom, which makes it a useful offer this quarter.
