Update 4/11/19: Deal is back again, not 100% sure what the end date is.
The Offer
Check your Chase Offers for the following deal:
- Get 15% cashback on Amazon Prime Now purchases, up to $11 cashback.
Some people are seeing this in their Bank Amerideals and likely with other banks too.
The Fine Print
- Valid one time only
- Not valid on third party purchases
Our Verdict
Presumably Prime Now codes differently than regular Amazon purchases, and this offer won’t be triggered by ordinary Amazon purchases. Prime Now users can save a bit with this deal. You can even shop Whole Foods on Prime Now.
Hat tip to reader Celia
Thanks, I have it on my Chase Prime Visa Signature. 15% back, up to $11, and good through 5/11/19.
Same offer here on my Marriott card.
Got 10% back up to $7 on prime now BoA deals
In seeing 15% back for amazonfresh instead
Can I use this offer to buy amazon gc on primenow?
I have Amazon Fresh 15% on Freedom, FU and CSR (max $8)
I was trying with a similar but better $20 off with Amex card (promo code AMEX20) but it just wont work. Wasted an hour trying various permutations and combinations. In my area the only prime now delivery is available from Whole Foods. Not sure if they are treated as third party seller even though they are not. I see in the T&C here similar restrictions on third party sellers.
I tried the AMEX20 code today and had the exact same issue. The code won’t work with Whole Foods orders (delivery or pick up), and it will only work if you order from Amazon directly on Prime Now.
Remember to tip Prime Now couriers in cash: https://www.reddit.com/r/AmazonFlexDrivers/comments/9ji1af/prime_now_tips/
“Amazon does not technically steal tips, but the end result is the same as if they did. They call it variable base pay. They state in the contract that 100% of tips are passed on to the driver. This is true. However, they often lower the base rate enough so the net earnings is the minimum stated in the block offer. Think of it like a piece of string. The entire length of the string is your earnings. The right side of the string is tips and the left side is base pay. They promise never to cut the right side of the string. They cut the left side instead. It still results in a shorter piece of string.”
so … not free delivery with prime?
It is conventional to tip a Prime Now courier and the interface encourages you to, by specifying $5 or more by default. But you should do so in cash, because Amazon effectively eats your tip by scaling their pay down, like Doordash.
Unless you’re more worried about Amazon’s wellbeing than the courier, I guess. Then you can save them money by tipping on your credit card!
I had 10% on Chase for prime now
+1
I don’t see 15% on Prime Now, but I do see 15% on AmazonFresh with $8 back maximum. Thanks, DoC!
Also seeing this in BOA deals 🙂
I’ll add that, thanks
