Our Verdict
Offers are better for Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders than Sapphire Preferred.
No bargains here if you’re shopping for Ray-Ban sunglasses. In the PROMO section of the Ray-Ban website, you’ll regularly find dozens of sunglasses for 30% or 50% off of the MSRP–significantly better savings than the statement credit you’ll earn buying Ray-Bans at the jacked-up prices in The Shops at Chase. You’ll also have 45 to return the item–for free–if it’s not to your liking (doesn’t apply to customized sunglasses).
Unfortunate, I was hopeful for one second it was a statement credit at Ray-Ban (which would have been great to stack with other promos as you mentioned).
How does this work? They jack up the advertised price, offer a discount, then give Chase a percent back when someone buys it? Win-win?
Yes!
COGS: $1
MSRP: $5
The LUXURY Shops at Chase: $15
Black Friday Sale: $10 (huge profit for brands + chase gets cut like ebay)
TPG: OMG! 33% DISCOUNT! EXTREME VALUE ALERT!
Is TPG that bad?
Worse
I have preferred, i see spend 200, 60$ cash back. Thanks!
I don’t see any offer- I have the new CSR
Where is it ?
It is in your chase offers in the app
keep in mind, you cant return them if you change your mind. returns are only within 30 days if there is an issue.
Doesnt sapphire reserve offer return protection?
I’m in Chase Sapphire Reserve The Shops but I don’t see the offer?
Is this like Rakuten?
No, it’s a new e-commerce store integrated with Chase. More like Amazon/Walmart than Rakuten. You browse items, add stuff to your cart, check out, and your info is largely pre-populated for a fast checkout. Most items on “The Shops at Chase” are luxury goods being sold at MSRP (and therefore of little interest to most people, since you can buy them elsewhere for less)
Chase does have a shopping portal like Rakuten but that’s something different which has been around for a while.
Would these stack with the $500 shops with Chase $75k CSR or $120k CSRB promos?
I can’t find these anywhere in my offers or when in the shopping portal with my reserve.
The list of stores needs to be expanded. Given the current list, I assign no value to this statement credit.
